Panasonic Toughpad comes in 10″ and 7″ sizes introduced as Panasonic’s signature aim at the rugged-grade mobile computing market. These tablets can really take a real-world beating (check out the vid below), drops, tumbles, water, heat, sand, etc. Powered by Android 3.2 (Honeycomb), the Panasonic Toughpads have a 1.2 GHz dual core processor, 16GB of storage (expandable to 32GB via SD Card), micro HDMI, 5 megapixel rear and 2 megapixel front cameras, has GPS & Wi-Fi, capable of 4G (LTE or WiMAX), and boasts 10 hours of battery life.
Given the market this device aims for security is key, enterprise-grade security is embedded at the hardware level and offers technologies like hardware and software encryption, enhanced VPN, dual factor authentication, trusted boot and device management. In addition to access to the Android Market, the Toughpads have the Business AppPortal™, an enterprise-focused app store offering best-of-breed vertical market specific solutions as well as applications addressing broad enterprise concerns, including Mobile Device Management, security and virtualization.
