Ondigo – customer relationship management app ideal for business users Install

Ondigo is a contacts application geared towards business people. As such, while it works pretty much the same as your normal Android contacts app, it offers a few other, more useful features that makes it a great solution for enterprise users and for people who like to stay in touch with their customers and potential clients. It includes a slick user interface and is easy to use.

Pros & Cons:

Pros

  • Great user interface!
  • Nice business-centric features!
  • Simple to use!

Cons

  • Might not be much use for non-business users.

Features:

As we have discussed before, more and more corporate users are turning to Android for their enterprise communication solutions (company-wide mobile phone roll-out to you and me). Subsequently, more apps are popping up with the business professional in mind. Ondigo is a clever take on the default Android contacts app where you can store your clients, prospective clients, colleagues, team mates and more.

If you had an HTC device recently, the app might feel quite familiar. With the Sense interface you log into some of your social networks: Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn and the updates, status posts, etc. of your contacts are displayed when you either view their contact card or, usefully, when they call you. Exactly the same idea is here in Ondigo- when a customer calls you, you can see their info on screen. The app also lets you add handy notes about the person and other information that might be of benefit when you are on the phone to them.

Each contact card has an info section, recent interactions (including calls, messages, etc.), their location and social information. The theory is of course, that these little details equip you to be more customer focused and ‘aware’ of your clients like never before.

Now, I’m not a ‘business’ person and therefore do not have a contact app populated with clients and corporate fellow work colleagues so perhaps in the short time I have had to test the application, it could be argued I haven’t had the opportunity to fully test it in a real-world environment. However, after previously working in sales, marketing and customer services, I can clearly see where this could be very useful.

One massive positive for me was the user interface. It’s clean, professional-looking and easy to use. Some things could be explained better in the introductory tutorial or, if a guidance video were to be created that too would be beneficial. I can genuinely see the benefit of having this level of engagement with your customer base and I’m sure it would offer an enhanced experience with dealing with prospective clients.

Usefulness:

For creating a more detailed and functional contacts app for professionals, the app is way ahead of the standard Android offering. By drawing information from sites like LinkedIn, it’s a very handy app to have. Being able to reflect back on all contact you have had with that person is very useful too- although there’s no feature that would let you embed recently exchanged emails, which is a shame as it is still an important communication tool among professionals.

Ease of Use:

I think there could be better tutorials or demonstrations for the app, but you soon find your way around. The app is very clean and fresh-looking, meaning that after a short while navigation is very straight forward and intuitive.

Frequently Used:

This will depend very much on the end user, but assuming you use the app to its potential, it would be something you use on a very regular basis in order to communicate and stay up-to-date with your customers and prospective clients.

Interface:

The interface is beautiful and looks superb. There is real detail in the design which makes it feel very much like a premium application. To be honest, it did remind me a little bit of the LinkedIn social networking application, which isn’t a bad thing.
