NOOK Update reportedly bricking tablets

Gottabemobile has a report up that users in the B&N forums are reporting some serious problems after installing the 1.2 update out this week. The update was released earlier this week and available as a manual download, with B&N stating it would put out an OTA update later as well.
The users are reporting cases of the device resetting itself without warning, erasing all of the data on the device. Further, once this happens, apparently the device then cannot connect to the B&N servers to re-resgister, in effect bricking the units until a fix can be found. There are also reports of intermitent WiFi problems after updating.
