From the creators of Brain Cube and Pandas vs Ninjas comes ‘Ninja Breakout’. Ninja Breakout is a beautifully designed brick-breaker clone that continues the battle between the endangered bamboo munchers and the silent Shinobi assassins.
Features:
Ninja Breakout has 40 well-crafted levels of block-breaking anarchy and has lots of power-ups and bonuses to destroy the blocks faster. The graphics have a lush and bright feel to them and the animations are smooth and detailed. While the gameplay is mainly just the simple swipe from side to side, the dexterity of your finger is challenged in later levels as the game gets progressively trickier. The game features accelerometer support, which is a nice touch, although I did prefer to use the touch screen when throwing my panda about.
One particular feature I enjoyed was the sound effects and music. The effects are fun and quirky and not too repetitive. The music is basically a kick-ass Oriental dance track that wouldn’t be too out of place in a Shanghai nightclub.
The free version of Ninja Breakout features an unobtrusive advertising model that pops up for about 4 seconds between levels which, to be honest is not a bad thing as it gives you a breather before the next level starts. However, on occasion I found this screen was just blank and I had to guess where the ‘Skip’ button was to progress.

Fun Factor:
Ninja Breakout presents bags of fun for adults and children alike. The game is easy to play and, with 40 challenging levels and OpenFeint scoring, you’re quite likely to play again and again.
Addictive:
Ninja Breakout is a highly addictive little game. The sheer volume of power-ups and bonuses, in addition to OpenFeint scoring, should easily bring out the competitive animal in you.
Graphics:
The graphics are cutesy cartoon-style sprites, blocks and backgrounds but everything is incredibly smooth and clear. There is no lag or skipping and the animations are beautifully rendered.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
The accelerometer option is a nice touch, although I’m not sure if it’s necessary – it may suit some people more than others. The music and sound effects are great and compliment the gameplay as well.
