Nightmarium is an atmospheric and richly animated bug-squishing-style game that’s easy to play but incredibly challenging. Defend the little girl from the onset of nightmare baddies with a variety of moves! Each level is harder than the one before and the baddies are more determined than ever! Gameplay is wrapped in lush atmospheric sounds and is animated to perfection! If you’re missing Halloween already, this is for you!

Features:
Nightmarium is a beautifully creepy Android game where you defend the sleeping girl from all manner of nightmarish creatures. To do so you need to tap some of them to make them disappear, others you must slice and others still need to be shaken or rubbed for them to die. The first level is relatively straightforward and there are not many baddies to deal with. However, as you progress things get increasingly dicey!
Due to the different ways of removing the nightmares, Nightmarium is very much like an advanced bug squishing game, only with this ghoulish monsters-under-the-bed theme. Game time is spent tapping, slicing or shaking monsters. Levels really do get very hard and monsters begin to have extended life which you have to use multiple taps to remove. There are a few secret weapons which can help which include a lamp (switching the light on vanquishes all the monsters on the screen) and teddy bear which soothes the little girl and prevents her from waking up.
Because you are just tapping, slinging and shaking, gameplay can feel a little bit repetitive and therefore suffers the same negative as most bug-squishing games. That said, the animation design and the nightmare ‘theme’ is utterly sublime and works really well with that genre of game. It is excellent then for the ultimate casual gamer- if you enjoy gaming in 5-10 minute slots of time, this is great. If you prefer longer gameplay time, you may find this becomes far too monotonous.

Fun Factor:
For short bursts of deliciously ghoulish fun, Nightmarium is excellent and well worth trying out. The simple gameplay, atmospheric sounds and impressively animated visuals combine to make it neat little game.
Addictive:
This genre of games can be addictive although it isn’t really to my own tastes. It’s the kind of game you can play and then try and beat your previous scores. You can also share you activity on Facebook if your friends and family appreciate that kind of thing.
Graphics:
The graphics are well animated and incredibly well designed. It has a cartoony theme (think Cartoon Network) and it works really well with the gameplay.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
The sound effects and music are superb- really adding a slice of eerie atmosphere to the game.
