Pros
Cons
Netflix is a streaming movie and television show app finally available on certain Android smartphones. Even on 3G cellular connection the picture quality is superb, over Wi-Fi it gets even better (only noticeable on high speed action scenes). Within the app you’re greeted with “Top Picks” Netflix recommends for you, resume watching where you last left off, or choose from Genres, Search for titles, and jump over to your Instant Queue. On the TV show/movie description page you can even rate titles, add to Instant Queue, see other related flicks, and most important… watch titles!
I personally would like to see standard on-screen controls in the video player such as rewind, fast-forward, in additional to the lone play/pause and seek slider. Also odd, however, might be convenient for some… they do not fill the video player full screen; meaning the notification window shade and icons are visible. Which can be a distraction if you receive many notifications.
The app only pulls up Netflix’s streaming inventory to watch instantly or queue on the device, therefore, excluded are the options to manage your mailed DVD queue. In my opinion, this is fine… if you want to manage your snail mail queue, simply hop over to the browser and manage online.
Gripe Alert: thus far Netflix is only available on 22 Android smartphones, we learned at Google I/O 2011 there are more than 315 Android devices in the wild, so this app will become more relevant to more people as it spans to more devices.
I’m totally saturated with Netflix in my home; it’s on my Google TV, Wii, now one of my Android phones, iPhone (yes… I have an iPhone), and computers. Other “Netflix junkies” can relate to this! Great use cases that prove its worthiness are long commutes, road trips, waiting at the airport or in the air on some flights, parents with small children, the list can go on.
Netflix for Android is very simple and straightforward. Once you login with your credentials, it’s virtually like picking up where you left the last used device.
That answer is really dependent on your Netflix junkie scale; a little or a lot!

Should you Download Netflix? Absolutely! This app has been one of the most anticipated thus far, especially if you have one of the few devices it supports and a Netflix account it’s a no-brainer. Hopefully a vast majority of Android devices are support in the very near future.
