Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi Available March 27th for $599

Motorola XOOM Android Tablet will be available in Wi-Fi flavor in the United States starting March 27th. Sold at Amazon.com, Best Buy, Costco, RadioShack, Sam’s Club (select locations), Staples and Walmart will be offering the 32 GB model for $599. Personally I have been waiting for this, to be honest, locking into a carrier agreement now in this tablet space is not good… so I suggest buy at unsubsidized price to have flexibility to jump to some other shiny toy that will come out in less than three months.

I concur. I don’t understand why most people would want a tablet computer with cell phone data connectivity. And if I really want to use a table outside the house on occasion, I always have the option to tether it to my Droid.

I got the 3G model for the same price with a data plan. I only have to pay $20/month for that. I usually have wifi available, so 1GB/month is plenty. It is worth it to have data available anywhere I go. Unless you sit in one or two places all the time, I don’t understand wanting a tablet without cellular data.
