Motorola XOOM Android Tablet Available for Verizon February 24

Verizon will sell the Motorola XOOM Android based tablet on February 24, 2011 for $599.99 with a new two-year customer agreement or $799.99 without a contract. In the rapidly advancing tablet space it’s probably best to fork over a few extra hundred bucks to go without the contract. At launch the XOOM will only have 3G data service at $20 monthly access for 1GB and upgradeable to 4G LTE service at no additional charge in the second quarter of 2011 (granted you send your tab in for a hardware upgrade).

Send in the device to be upgraded to 4G in the 2nd qtr???? What??? Really??? I think I will just wait until the 2nd qtr, than you. What’s happening with Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 in the U.S.? Who will sell it and will there be a wi-fi only version?
