Med Helper Pro is a useful app that can remind you to take medication, renew a prescription and visit the doctor or hospital. Ideal for all kind of people; folks who have to take regular medication, parents of sick children, care workers and family members who look after sick relatives. It’s easy to use and a brilliant tool for managing day-to-day healthcare.

Pros & Cons:
Pros
- Great UI!
- Lots of flexible options!
- Exportable log!
- Supports multiple profiles!
- Alarms/notifications!
Cons
- Would be nice if there were different themes.
- Might also benefit from being able to bar-code scan or take pictures of the medication.
Features:
If you have to take regular medication, whether it be shots, pills, medicine or any other form of prescription drugs it might not take too long into a schedule for you to forget and miss a dose. Depending on the ailment, this missed dosage might cause more pain and discomfort or reduce the efficacy of the treatments you are receiving. Timing then is often important. Ramped up, you, or someone you care for might need to manage a veritable cocktail of treatments to manage different problems; each having to be taken at a particular time, before a meal, after a meal, before bed, when you get up, etc. so scheduling becomes complicated. This is where Med Helper Pro steps in and does all that reminding stuff for you.
While it’s fun to review apps that tell you the weather, or let you share your pictures, some apps are even more critical to personal use. Med Helper Pro saves so much hassle and makes taking medications prudently a far more simple affair. The app will let you create a schedule of what meds you need to take and when, plus prompt you with reminders when you need another dose. It will help you manage your prescriptions in detail, take medical notes and list local doctors and pharmacies. Additionally, you can manage your appointments too- this means you can easily schedule visits to the hospital or doctor when you need them.
Obviously this has a practical application to a number of people. There is the ability to create a number of profiles, so you simply manage your families medical care through the app; never miss a dentists appointment or a dose of antibiotic again because the app will remind you. It will also let you export the information you accumulate so should it be required by medical staff or care workers making it easy for them to see if they need to consult.
The app is easily laid out and, while it might take a while to input all your information (if you rely on a lot of meds or have a large family with diverse medical needs) it is straightforward and uncomplicated. All your information is then ‘right there’ and easy to access. Reminders are prompt and you can set your own notification sounds. Some of us are lucky enough to not suffer from persistent illness, but we might have family, friends or people we care for who would benefit from such a useful app.

Usefulness:
I would probably argue that, if you take regular meds, Med Helper Pro is about as useful as an application can be. It lets you organise such a variety of things, it has that all-under-one-roof feel about it that lets you reply on the app. You can also back up the app’s contents so, if you lose your device your information still exists.
It can be useful to a range of different people. Whether you yourself take medications, members of your family have such requirements or maybe you are a care worker who has to manage multiple patients and a variety of different medication schedules- it’s overwhelmingly useful.
Ease of Use:
While your medication schedule might be hugely complex, the app is not. It lets you easily and simply enter your data and set your notifications. I think it would have been perfect to include a bar-code scanner to allow for quicker data entry, or even if it let you take a picture of the medication box and store it. If you have several medications to take it might take a while to put in all the information. This aside, at least data entry is remarkably straightforward.
Frequently Used:
As frequently as you need to take medication. If your meds are stable, then after you have set the app up it should be easy to maintain. Obviously if your medications are continually adjusted you might have to make manual changes as you go along. On this basis the app is even more helpful as you will not need to suddenly memorise a new schedule of doses.
Interface:
The interface is deliberately quite simple, yet pretty neat and simple to use. I really would have liked to see different themes to choose from (besides the bright blue native theme) but this aside the UI is very cohesive with the app itself and looks good.
