Features:

Martini Lock is a simple application which replaces your normal lock screen with a Martini Shaker. To unlock your phone just shake up the Martini and out of nowhere your phone is unlocked and ready to party!

When you first run Martini Lock it prompts you watch a video on how to set up the application to be your new lock screen. The application is very easy to set up and start using. If this is the first time you have tried out a lock screen application the demo video does an excellent job showing you how to set up the application. The set up process only takes a few seconds then you are ready to use the application.

Martini Lock comes with several Martini Shakers to choose from. Some of the Martini Shakers have very realistic photos, others are cartoon drawings. Both types of lock screens look good on the phone and will amuse your friends, but it would be nice to have more options.

Another great feature of Martini Lock is that it allows the user to determine which home screen application to use after unlocking the phone. Many similar lock screen applications do not support this option, which is very unfortunate. I am very glad to see that this is included with Martini Lock because it allows the home screen enthusiastic to use the launcher of their choice (i.e. LauncherPro, ADW.Launcher, Zeam, HelixLauncher, etc.).

Finally, this application has a feature to adjust shake sensitivity. If you are out at a party and want to make it harder for your friends to unlock your phone then turn down the sensitivity to make it harder to unlock. Then after you have had your laughs, and are ready to use it yourself, turn the sensitivity back up so that it unlocks easily for normal use.

Usefulness:

Martini Unlock is a very good lock screen replacement application which is useful if you are looking for a good laugh with your friends while out at a party. I personally don’t think this is an application that I could permanently replace my standard lock screen with, because shaking the phone as an unlocking mechanism is not very discreet or secure.

Ease of Use:

Martini Unlock is very easy to use. The application comes with an excellent demo video to guide you through set up as well as a simple to use interface. The shake sensitivity can be set very high for easy unlocks and the interface is self explanatory.

Frequently Used:

I would not use this application very often because it is not very discreet and does not offer any other unlocking options. Such as the ability to use a custom background or the ability to change the lock to a normal style slide to unlock. The application is very well designed and works better than many other third party lock screen applications I have tried in the past, but due to it’s nature it is a very niche application. Martini Unlock seems to be an application designed mostly to bring life to a party and does not have much value for daily normal use.

Interface:

The Martini Unlock interface is easy to use and gives great options for changing Martini Shakers, changing the default home screen application, or changing shake sensitivity. I wish that developer had also incorporated other unlocking options or images into the application.

One of the things I like about Martini Unlock is how smoothly the application runs and transitions to your home screen. It works remarkably well and is on par with applications like Lock 2.0 or GOTO Lockscreen for ease of use and performance. However, since the application does not include any options for customization it is not a real competitor to either of these applications.

Should you Download Martini Lock? You should download Martini Lock if you are looking for a fun application to use as your lock screen and show off to your friends! The application runs well and is very easy to use. However, I would not recommend it as a permanent lock screen replacement due to it’s lack of user customization.

I like that idea! For the price of the application as a novelty why not throw in a few recipes for different Martini’s! In fact why not add in a shake for recipe option, which gives you a different Martini Recipe for each unlock!
