Manilla – Bills and Reminders is a service with accompanying app that connects and collects bill information for you to manage securely in one place, similar to apps like Pageonce. If you have due bills or reward points about to expire the service can send you notifications to better manage your bills online or via your phone.

Features:
Manilla – Bills and Reminders is the app that matches the online service which allows you to log into and connect many retailers and financial institutions for managing your bills in one place (Manilla’s website states more than 3,000 providers and growing!) If bills become due or say you’ve added a rewards cards and points are about to expire, the app will notify you under the Reminders tab. There is a Documents tab that gathers any documents from the providers, for example bill statements- now you can go paperless. And the final Accounts tab lists all the accounts you’ve linked plus a method to add more.
My personal gripe with mobile app platforms, such as Android and iOS, is that there is no universal sure way consumers can know their information is transmitted in a secure method within mobile apps, such as with SSL certificates and the little lock display with the web browser experience. With mobile apps, you can only assume your personal data is secured by the utmost security standards, and Manilla’s terms of service seem to state that your transmissions and data storage is protected by SSL 256-bit encryption. I do appreciate how you need to double authenticate to access the app’s data, meaning standard username and password combo plus the use of a four digit pin number. Even if the phone goes to sleep, when you wake the phone, you are, again, prompted for your four digit pin number to access the app.

Usefulness:
For users of the online service, the mobile companion is a sweet must-have combo. If you’re new to the service, it truly is a convenient way to keep a track of multiple bills, financial accounts, subscriptions, rewards cards and credit cards in one place… and do it from anywhere on your mobile!
Ease of Use:
Manilla – Bills and Reminders is really straightforward to use. You can log into your account, or set up an account directly from the app. Just as with any financial consumer service, there are several layers of security factors you must install to ensure your data is safe; such as choosing and answering security questions, setting a password and pin number. The rest is a matter of logging into your other provider account(s) from within the app. I did notice some accounts required a few minutes delay before you can access your information, but not a huge deal.
Frequently Used:
If you have several accounts you are tracking, I can see this as something you use as bills become due, on up to being used daily. It all really depends on how many accounts you have added and the frequency of those due dates, as the app will remind you of due payments.
Interface:
Just like the website, Manilla has a clean and minimal look and feel to it. It really shines in the way it organizes many account types in a singular area.
