Lock 2.0 is the next version of “Slide Unlocker” with skins.
Price: Free, Donate $1.49
Lock 2.0 Android App is cool! Mimic the same screen unlock feature like that of iPhone. Easily displaying the date and time, simply slide the bar from left to right and your screen is unlocked. The stock backgrounds are nice too. Plus Lock 2.0 allows you to download background and battery skins. Speaking of battery, when you charge the phone, Lock 2.0 Android App will show the battery status charge animation in real-time. Lock 2.0 Android App allows you to control a host of settings such as unlock preferences, notifications and even stop its background processes to conserve battery life.
Lock 2.0 is very straight-forward but does present some app conflicts. Warning: You should NOT set Lock 2.0 as your default home app.
It’s launched every time you tapp the “Home” button or unlock you phone.
Lock 2.0 Android App provides amazing graphic visuals!

Should you Download Lock 2.0? Yes, use the free version, even the paid version is worth the small donation.
The reason I stopped using this app is because it WILL disable your notifications. I got tired of rebooting my phone so that my email and text msg alerts would work again. Uninstalled until the creator fixes this problem. I’ve downloaded 50+ apps and this is the ONLY one which caused this type of issue.
About to stop using it because I don’t feel like it’s worth the donation and I’m tired of the free notification being stuck in my notification bar
I agree with MS. Just stopped using the app because of the issue with notifications. This is the only app that’s made me have to reboot several times a day. Finally got fed up with it.
TJ, you can get rid of the notification message. Open up your notifications, then click on the “clear notifications” button.
Idea is awesome. Usability is terrible though – and in full disclosure I’m a usability snob. The fact that I’m still trying to figure out how to *NOT* make this ridiculous skull my default skin after about 3 hours of toying….I’m over it. Also – conform to the rest of the G1 world…in no other application do you automatically delete something just by a long hold.
Removed the app quickly after install because it takes up 47 megabytes of the G1 memory! It was 40 times larger than the largest app I have installed and immediately resulted in an out-of-memory notification. Why should this thing be so large?
Definitely a good idea, but executed poorly. Caused lots of hang-ups when returning to home, didn’t work right, disabled notifications, etc etc
Maybe I’m doing something wrong with the settings, please advise. If I power down the phone then turn back on the Lock 2.0 app is not running. Defeats the purpose on have security on the phone if all you have to do is power off then on.
@G3user
i have the same problem. maybe the newer builds/roms… the developer hasn’t updated his app for AGES… and i have a feeling he doesn’t even consider to ever do.
for instance, there is a mistake in the 24hr format of the clock, and i pointed that out 3 months ago, 1 months ago, 1 week ago, and no update whatsoever.
besides this, this lock screen does not really offer security. it is basically only a picture, with a neat sliding feature.
what a pity, the idea was great……
Haven’t used this app in 6 months, but does it still have the notifications issue? I would disable ALL of my email/text notifications after it was installed. It wasn’t an immediate effect, but after use, it disabled them EVERY time.
My problem with the Lock app is that it doesn’t disable the buttons on the side of the phone. Frequently the ringer volume was turned down while the phone was in my pocket, with missed calls as a result. I’ve stopped using the app.
I need a lock app that has real security. Longtouching the ‘home’ button will bypass this app, no PIN required.
Like the skins, etc. Not unhappy with the price.
Only issue is with the Samsung Moment, it does not auto boot after the phone is cycled off.
The app details indicate it is set to auto boot, but alas, it does not.
No big memory usage, etc. Pretty much what I wanted.
Anyone have the problem on the droid where right below the swipe there is an annoying menu bar there that you can’t get rid of? whenever i need to put in the password to unlock the menu doesn’t go away and the number pad is overlayed over the menu so it looks all jumbled up.
Disables my notifications and can’t hear calls without hard reset.
Unless I was doing something wrong in the set up, I found that ANY app running in the top pull-down task bar could be run. I also us an app killer which is also accessible from the pull-down task bar and by running it would disable “Lock”.
can someone help me. i disabled the bottom bar and now i cant access the setting and skins please help
Hello, I downloaded it and using it in my HTC Tattoo, but it doesn’t show the whole screen but just until part of the “slide to unlock” botton, does anyone know how to fix it?
i loaded this image as the Background for unlock 2.0, now i have an iphone!
