I’ve been using Listen for a while and I like the simplicity, but there’s some stuff that I just don’t get. Like where does the app save my podcasts? When does it delete them from storage?

I had been using BeyondPod which gave lots of options. It became quite the resource hog on the lowly G1, but now that I’m using a Nexus One I’ve considered switching back. For that reason alone I wish it had import/export of feed lists.

Simple? Yes. Perhaps too simple.

I like the “plain Jane” interface of Listen, simple and straight forward… but that is about it. The program is buggy, it makes choices like when to delete a podcast without user interaction in some indecipherable method. It takes hours for an updated podcast to be found, you can only find podcasts that are part of some database, and can’t just select podcast’s RSS feed. No support for private podcasts that require you to log in to download.

It is a nice proof of concept app, but it is far from a finished app. aCast, is a busy and cluttered interface, but at least, I can find and play what I want… when I want.
