LG Optimus 4X HD Signage
The LG Optimus 4X HD was first shown at Mobile World Congress 2012, we’re taking another look at it at CTIA Wireless 2012. Currently unavailable in the U.S., this beast of an Android powered smartphone touts a quad core processor. The industry describes the processor technology as “4 plus 1” as there is technically a fifth core dedicated to power management. Which we’re told can process light weight apps like the music player in the background on this core without affecting battery. Though we did not get real-world battery benchmarks from LG, they state this will help battery life in a smartphone of this power significantly.

LG Optimus 4X HD Angle View
The phone is slim at 8.9mm thin, with 4.7 inch True HD IPS LCD (which is the same technology used in their televisions). Words cannot describe just how beautiful the screen is, it almost looks fake- like a high quality print until you actually touch the device. The colors truly pop and most noticeable while looking at photos & videos. There is an 8 megapixel rear camera and 1.3 megapixel front facing camera with camcorder. The software for video viewing is quite unique to the device as you can pinch & zoom live video playback and preview other videos while watching; plus there is a “Time Machine” feature than gives you the control to slow down or speed up video playback.
What are your thoughts on this phone?
