All in all, I enjoy this system, but a few things the original review didn't mention:

PROS
- The Scrobbler can help create more complete recommendations, because once you download the Scrobbler, any music you listen to on iTunes gets added to your playlist.

CONS
- Doesn't allow users to add their own artists, albums, or songs to the database, which could hurt up-and-coming bands
- Sometimes if you select a particular band and try to play that band's radio, you can listen to that radio for an hour and NEVER hear a song by that artist. For example, I tried to listen to the band Peach, clicked "Play Peach Radio" and never heard a song by them.
- It isn't the greatest system if you're interested in classical music.

RECOMMENDATIONS
- If you want to listen to similar artists to the ones you like, and you like a few specific genres, Last.fm is for you
- If you have a wide variety of tastes, but still want recommendations, go Pandora
- If you want to skip recommendations and just build an online, iTunes-style playlist, try Grooveshark.

Looks great, but unfortunately not available in Europe due to (music) licensing restrictions.

Succinct and fair review, I use this app frequently too and rate it highly. It doesn't crash on me often, but I agree the time between songs can vary from 4 or 5 seconds to sometimes over a minute. I expect this is due to the 3G signal strenth, but the app could perhaps make itself a buffered cache on the SD card...
