AndroidTapp.com Android App Review:
Pros & Cons:
Pros
- Very easy to navigate
- You can text and email the translated text
- You can adjust font size
Cons
- You can’t hear how the translation pronunciation
- There isn’t an option to copy and paste text to be translated (work-around is to send text as SMS or email and copy from those apps)
- You can’t write in the native text of a different language (besides English) and have it translated (unless you change the language on your phone)
- iPhone version has more customization options than Android version
Features:
When you open iTranslate the translation options are on the first screen. The app has few customization options within the menu tab; this reduces having to constantly go to different screens. The translation engine is powered by Google Translate.
The menu button gives you the option to send to email or SMS text message. At the bottom right of the translation boxes lies an italic “i” that you click on. This is to modify font size, email feedback to the developer, and search for affiliated applications to iTranslate.
Gripe Alert: we’ve reviewed other language translation apps that go quite farther in features than this app; such as Talk to Me or Trippo Mondo Voice Translator which not only allow you to write text for translation, but allow voice input plus audible pronunciation.
