Interactive Telling Time HD is an award winning educational app for teaching kids how to tell the time. Featuring several different activities that both educate and challenge children, it’s a genuinely fun app that feels more like a game. My youngest daughter loves this app and really enjoys trying out all the different options. If you have younger children, this is definitely an app to check out.

Features:
Interactive Telling Time HD is a really well produced educational app for children learning to tell the time on an analogue clock. An essential life-skill that most of us probably take for granted now, learning time is an often tricky thing for kids to get their heads around.
The app features 6 learning sections:
- SET the Time! – Here children have to set the time by directly moving the clock hands to the right time.
- What’s the time? – The time is displayed on the analogue clock and the child has to set the digital clock to the correct time.
- Play Puzzle! – This activity allows the child to select one of several clock faces. They must assemble it correctly- finding the right place for the hands, centre piece and numbers.
- Take the QUIZ! – This is a multiple choice quiz which gets the learner to select the correct time to that displayed.
- STOP the Clock! – Here the child has to hit the stop button when the correct time is reached.
- LEARN the Clock! – This section is essentially a large glossary of information related to clocks and telling the time. A good place to summarise what has been learnt.
When a correct answer is found, children are rewarded with a point. Three points wins them a star and five stars earn them a choice of fish to populate the aquarium. There are 35 ‘aquarium friends’ to collect, from shell and crabs to fish and other sea creatures. It’s a brilliant solution to keep children motivated throughout the exercises.
My daughter loves this app and keeps asking to play it- always disappointed when she has to switch it off. She has already collected a number of fish and really enjoys being tested in this way. As she was a crucial part of this review process I asked her what she thought of the app. The words she used were ‘Perfect’ and ‘Brilliant’ and awarded the game two thumbs up.

Usefulness:
For encouraging your child to learn how to tell the time, and actually have an interest in learning, this is a great application. It rewards correct answers and is lots of fun to use.
Ease of Use:
Designed for smaller children, the app is incredibly easy to use and very responsive. Even the menus and other parts of the app are simple to play with and navigate.
Frequently Used:
This is easily something your child could play with on a daily basis. There are lots of activities that get progressively harder and they are frequently rewarded with stars and fishes!
Interface:
The interface features a bright and bold design that children will respond well to. There are frequent voice prompts and spoken dialogue throughout the app, making it easier than ever for children to use the app, whether they are fluent readers already or not.
