Pros & Cons:
- Addictive and fast paced gameplay!
- Scorching good graphics!
- Great music!

- User interface can appear a bit cluttered and confusing.
- Need to make in-app purchases to make the most of the game.
HyperQuiz is THE game for trivia enthusiasts as it is essentially a gameshow platform for your Android device. Simply download the app, sign up (either full profile or as guest) and then partake in games of 10 questions against 3 other players. Questions are multiple choice and you get 4 options. You get a set time to answer every question and bonuses for answering first.
Like popular TV gameshows like ‘Who Want’s to be a Millionaire?‘ you also have access to lifelines and there are (currently) 9 to choose from. There’s ‘Half Maker’ which will remove two incorrect answers, ‘Extra Time’ gives you an additional four seconds, ‘Shootdown’ removes one wrong answer, ‘Quicker’ will mean you have the fastest right answer regardless of your time, ‘One Pair’ lets you select two possible answers, ‘Valentine’ makes your opponents screen shatter with a bullet, ‘Peek’ lets you look at other players answers, ‘Probable’ gives you probability statistics on the right answer and ‘Oil Spill’ splatters your opponents screen with obtrusive black oil!
The way to beat your opponents is to get as many questions right as possible. While answering quickly is valuable, taking your time and getting it right is perhaps more important. The player with the most correct answers wins the game and is rewarded with points which contribute to your global position. You can also earn credits to buy lifelines, etc. Credits are quite slow to come by but the game often prompts you to consider buying more (via in-app purchases). The game does also support the model which rewards you credits for downloading other games so that might be another option.
Hyper Quiz is hugely addictive and really gets your adrenaline going! Playing against other live players is a real buzz and winning rounds is great fun. Accumulating your own statistics is also pretty neat, you get an average score and its challenging to consistently better your averages. The game has lots of spaces marked ‘Coming Soon’ so there will be more to come with future updates; different modes, challenges, competitions and all sorts more.

Undeniably the game is loads of fun, there’s a real tension about playing and it’s rewarding when you get answers correct. You have the short term enjoyment of getting correct answers, being the fastest to answer and winning the game- but then also there is something cool about improving your overall average score and position in the game on the global leaderboards.
Hugely! These type of games are very engrossing and seem to go very quickly. It’s difficult to play just one game, you’ll want to go back for more! Add to this the way you will want to improve your scores, HyperQuiz will be something you play over and over (if you can handle it!)
The graphics are absolutely sublime. Very very smooth and detailed UI, moving about the highly polished menus is a real treat and thoroughly satisfying. However, while it does look very slick, I occasionally thought pages looked a little cluttered, with almost too much going on- making it a little distracting at times.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
The sound is very good (ignore the music on the video, it’s better than that). Subtle background menu music mostly that suits the game well. Vibrations let you know when other competitors have answered, so it’s good to know whether you answered correctly before them in-game. This works really well and brings quite a tactile feel to the gameplay.
