Huawei revealed the Ascend P2 and tout it as “the World’s Fastest 4G LTE Smartphone”. The company takes the claim as it embeds an LTE Cat 4 chip to theoretically achieve download speeds of up to 150 Mbps. Like its predecessor it is ultra thin at only 8.4mm thick, and the screen goes near edge-to-edge with 4.7-inch IPS HD in-cell touch display with second-generation Gorilla Glass. The phone runs Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and packs a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, has NFC tap to share technology, a 13-megapixel BSI rear-facing camera with HDR, and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera with dedicated camera button on the side. It has a long-lasting 2420 mAh battery with a special feature to reduce power consumption and charging time by more than 25% compared to other phones called; Quick Power Control (QPC) and Automated Discontinuous Reception (ADRX).
We only have hints of the Huawei Emotion UI, a custom user interface on top of Android, but it looks to have a slew of convenient features including; a smartphone housekeeper app that keeps tabs on data traffic, automatic blacklisting and blocking, periodical system cleaning, and spontaneous exiting of idle programs and cache cleanup, in addition to anti-virus, energy saving, privacy protection, software management, and more.
The Huawei Ascend P2 will be on sale in France through Orange in June 2013. The Ascend P2 will also be available globally around the second quarter of 2013. Stay tuned…
