We learned recently the DROID X was officially getting the Android 2.2 Froyo update and the goodies it will bring like Adobe Flash in the web browser, automatic app updates, improved Exchange support and more (for a complete list of what’s new in Android 2.2 see here). Don’t want to wait for the over-the-air update Verizon will be pushing out and want to install Android 2.2 Froyo on your DROID X now… there’s an easy way to get it. Simply go to Settings » About phone » System updates to download the 68MB update file to install. Please note: you’ll need the stock DROID X 2.1 Eclair ROM in order to easily do this update. Here’s a guide to show you how to roll it back.
