Features:
The Hotels.com app, as you would expect, is an Android Client for the Hotels.com site, with access to your current and past bookings via the site, as well as the ability to search for and book hotels directly from the phone.
One of the best parts of the app, other than managing your reservations, is the search functionality that comes built in. You can use your current location or set a destination, enter check-in and -out dates, as well as the number of rooms and people you’ll need, and you’ll get a pretty complete list of options. On the results page, each hotel has a small thumbnail picture, the average guest rating, the hotel name, and the current average daily rate. If there is currently a sale going on, you’ll see that with the price in a slightly larger font and green, to make it stand out. Once you select a hotel you’re interested in, you have access to more pictures and a description of the hotel, as well as a full list of the room types and current rates. You can also read about the amenities, read guest reviews, and get details of what’s around the local area. It even integrates with Google Maps, so if you want to leave the app to explore the area a bit more before booking, you can.
Once you pick a hotel and a room size/rate, you get a bit more information about what that specific room includes, as well as a button that will allow you to book the hotel. On the booking page, you’ll get a full breakdown of the total charges, a copy of the cancellation policy, and a place to put in an additional discount code if you have one. From there, the app walks you through the process of booking the room and getting the confirmations. You can even decide to have the itineraries sent to more than one email address, if you choose.
Also note, unless you have a booking that you’ve completed via hotels.com, you can’t get into the reservations management details, which includes the ability to rate the hotel and/or stay.
