Hooked – best games for you is the smart way to find new games on your Android device. Trawling the market looking for games can be a bit of a chore. Sure, you can get great recommendations from sites like AndroidTapp,
but there’s no way we can cover every single game. Hooked gets to know your gaming habits; what you like, how much you play a certain game, etc. and bases (mostly) accurate recommendations based on that. On the whole it’s pretty good. Using it I found some decent titles. So, if you need something to take the guesswork out of choosing your next addictive time-waster, this is ideal for you!

Features:
Hooked is a great for finding new games for Android. It’s a simple app to use which reads the games you have downloaded and play often. It then builds an idea of the kind of games you like and recommends new games based on your taste. It also monitors which games you play most and how long you play them for.
You initially get a screen with 4 tabs along the top: Recommended, Discover, Search and My Games. These are quite self explanatory and direct you to various aspects of the app which either help you review which games you already like or discover new ones. Under ‘Discover’, the Hooked community will display what apps are being recommended and played- a great way to see what’s hot in the Android Market. You can essentially review each game by giving it a thumbs up or thumbs down. The app records this and subsequently builds an idea of what kind of games you like.
It usually suggests plenty of games. Some of these are great, although I am unable to fathom why some games are recommended. An example of this might be: “Kids Connect the Dots: Recommended because you’re interested in Fallen Realms, Geared and Pool Break Lite”. I can only think one thing- ‘Really? You think I’ll like a children’s dot-to-dot game because I also think an RPG game is quite good?’ At other times it seems to work fine; one action shooter for another, one pool game for a similar one and so on. All in all it’s often a bit hit and miss. However, the app often gives you quite a number of options so there’s usually one or two which catch your eye.
I think a great feature of this is the ability to go straight to the Android Market and download the recommended games. There are also good descriptions and pictures of the game, so you don’t leave the app behind to check out a game that sounds great but actually looks rubbish.

Usefulness:
Despite being very sporadic with its quality of recommendations, Hooked will still help you uncover a few hidden gems. Apps like this are great because the Android Market is growing at such a rate, it’s tricky to identify good games from woeful ones. Hooked lets you feel like you have a finger on the pulse of the Market- great for discovering new titles.
Ease of Use:
The app is simple to use and laid out very well. Navigating is quite easy as you use the main four tabs described earlier.
Frequently Used:
I’ve tended to check the app out a couple of times a week. Perhaps as a reviewer I might look for new games more often than a typical user, but it refreshes regularly so it’s worth taking a look at if you need a new time-killer.
Interface:
The interface is in a plush black with great screen transitions. It has a quality feel to it too and is nice to use. Sometimes it feels like the screen can be quite cluttered, but to be fair the app wants to save you time and displaying a lot of information is arguably the best way to do that.
