Hollowire, developers of Minutes Tracker and Shopalot Android Apps are privately Beta testing their newest Android App called Open Gesture. The cool twist involves you drawning letters, numbers or shapes to represent personalized shortcuts to launch Apps, Widgets, commands, etc. See more in the video below.

Words from Hollowire:

We developed Open Gesture in the hope that, like us, it will enhance your experience with the Android desktop. But we really won’t know till we hear it from you. So we’re paging android users to help us test our app and give us some real, honest feedback.

So help us shape what the finished product will look like! The first 25 to tweet this on Twitter, will get to participate in the private beta and eventually get a free app once it’s released.

For those who won the free Betas, few tips on using Open Gesture:
    - Swipe up to show quick launch wheel… swipe down to launch feedback and bug options menu.
    - Tapp hand icon to invoke gestures menu.
    - 3rd party widgets from the Market can saved to home desktop

There was a slight hiccup in getting all the winners there beta app, seems non-winners got a hold of the beta sign up page and requested the app, yet dont have license codes to unlock it. Due to the overwhelming response from this promo, Hollowire asked us to hold the rest of the licenses until Monday 7/6/09… Hang tight winners

  2. Superkikim says:

    I don’t get it… The article says 4 twitts… Where are the 25 first twitts ? Did I miss something ?

  4. Android Tapp says:

@Superkikim It’s a bit confusing, but the TweetMeme “Retweet” gadget does not qualify for the giveaway, yet clicking on the Tweeter link Hollowire set above. Please see this link for well over 25 tweeps who tweeted: http://search.twitter.com/search?q=@hollowire+Introducing+Open+Gesture

  9. Ok..so i got the beta for this app. and ive been using it for a few hours now testing a few ins and outs and basics.

is there a forum area to discuss the app? or can it be posted here..

just incase..here is a quick review. The app works well. look sleek and doesnt seem to be gaudy with the design. the quick pull up settings is handy. the Gesture to quick open any set program is fun and pretty hand for the programs u might not want a hot button for on your desktop…or for making quick 1 touch calls for those NOT on Fav 5.
    I like so far.
1 thing i had was it locked up when i first opened Cestos the game.
forced out and tried again…loaded up slow..but it worked.
