Hero Updated to Android 2.1 May 7th?

Time goes by so slowly for those who wait… that adage has never been more true for those of us sporting the Hero from Sprint. Since the release of Android 2.1 and the quick update of the Moto DROID, a lot of spectators where wondering when the update would trickle down our way. Especially since Sprint has promised the update to their current two Android devices the Samsung Moment and HTC Hero.

Well our wait is soon to be over as leaked screenshots show Best Buy to be selling the phones with the update Friday May 7th. The update will also be available on HTC’s home website. The update will completely wipe out your phone so please be sure to have everything backed up, and get ready for 2.1. Want to know what new features you’ll gain?
