Unknown Sources Warning and Confirmation
3. Open your email app and click the special link from the purchase receipt email you received in order to download the app.

App Download in Notification Bar
5. Read the permissions the app requests, then click “Install”. Once installed you can start using the app.

Confirm Install Screen
NOTE: If you are on your computer, connect your phone to your computer via USB cable. Click the special link from the purchase receipt email to download the app APK file to your computer. How do you handle Chargebacks?
We strive to resolve billing disputes as swiftly and painless as possible, however, billing disputes may arise and we encourage the refund method above rather than forcing a chargeback as this negatively affects our ecosystem. If you force a chargeback of a purchase without allowing us to rectify the issue first, your account will be immediately suspended, removing access to any previous purchases and app updates from the Store.
Is my phone supported by the Store?
All Android devices; phones and tablets running Android Version 1.6 or higher are supported by the store. Important: please check each product listing for full compatibility list.
Unfortunately some AT&T customers do not have access to this feature, here is an explanation why.
Reason why some AT&T phones may not be compatible.
Prior to May 2011, AT&T blocked access in the Settings menu of their phones to enable installing non-market Android apps, known as sideloading. AT&T then issued a statement that they will be sending out an update that removed this restriction. This note is for factory stock users, as of course some advanced users who rooted their phone are not affected. Depending on whether your phone has received this update, the following phones may not be compatible:
Will I be automatically alerted of new app updates?
You will see app update notices (when available) next to purchases in your “My Account” page. Periodically check your account to download new versions of your purchased app.
What are App Packs?
“App Packs” are premiere collections of apps our expert editorial staff pick and are bundled with a discount off the total purchase price.

Therefore if your paid app will not be automatically listed with us, you would have to apply separately with our store for inclusion and resell.

Quality Guidelines Approval
AndroidTapp Store is built on delivering the best quality Android apps for consumers to purchase and download. Therefore we reserve the right to curate our marketplace with apps that meet the following criteria:
- If AndroidTapp.com expert reviewer staff has reviewed your app and rated a minimum of 4.0 stars.
- If AndroidTapp.com expert reviewer staff has NOT reviewed your app yet, you must have your app listed in Google’s Android Market with a minimum of 1,000 downloads and a minimum of 4.0 stars user rating.

Reporting
Do you offer sales analytics?
Yes! When an item is sold, we display a sales dashboard in your account. Simply log into your Developer Account to see the sales dashboard, if there is no data there then there hasn’t been any sales of your app as of yet.
We will temporarily be sending Sales Reports upon request in your Developer Account.
Understanding the Sales Report
Reconciliation Price is the price eligible for payout to the developer. Sometimes we offer promotional specials on apps that may be lower cost than that what the developer lists them for. We respect developers list prices and pay according to developer list price, any reduction in cost we incur as we consider it a cost of our sales (not the developer). If there is zero dollar ($0) amount in Reconciliation Price field, this occurs if a developer creates a 100% discount Promo Code and purchases their own app at no cost.
Profit Payout is the profit eligible for pay to the developer less AndroidTapp.com Store thirty percent (30%) processing fee. Please note, payouts will be processed when sales exceed $100 USD prior to the 15th of every, payable on the 15th of every month via the payment type chosen in your Developer Account.
Why are my earnings showing a negative amount?
This rare occurrence happens when a customer requested a valid refund or forced a chargeback of your Store item, thus we reverse the earnings, and the balance was not enough to keep the account positive.
Will customers be automatically alerted of new app updates?
When you update your app, customers will see update notices next to purchase in their account.
Do I have to support free app updates?
Developers are required to support free app updates in our Store. Once a customer pays for an app, they get unlimited access to the updated app.
How long does it take to get my approved for sale?
We batch process app listings and will notify you of acceptance or rejection within 2 business days. This is the same for app updates.

Copyright & Legal
A DMCA take down Notice has been issued against my product. What does this mean?
When someone believes that an item on the marketplaces has violated their copyright, we ask that they send support a copyright or DMCA take down notice. A DMCA take down notice is a serious legal document in which an individual swears under penalty of perjury that they are the legal copyright holder to the allegedly infringing product/s.
When our sales support receives a valid DMCA take down notice, we immediately:
- Remove the item in question from the marketplaces.
- Freeze any funds from the sale of the item for a period of 3 years.
- In some cases, disable the account from which the item in question was uploaded for sale.
- Notify the author and send them a digital copy of the DMCA take down notice.
How can I unfreeze earnings or have my account reinstated?
The only ways AndroidTapp can reopen an account or release funds after a DMCA notice is sent, is if:
- A registered legal body compels AndroidTapp to release the funds or reinstate the account, or
- The issuer of the DMCA take down notice retracts the allegations in writing.
Do you offer Copy Protection for my app?
Unfortunately we do not have a copy protection mechanism in place. We are building an API to deter piracy of your software. This should be available in Q1 2012.

Payment & Taxes
How will AndroidTapp tax me if I’m a domestic developer?
Developers who reside in the United States are responsible for withholding and paying their own taxes.
How will AndroidTapp tax me if I’m an international developer?
Effective in Q1 2012, AndroidTapp will withhold 30% income taxes mandated by U.S. Internal Revenue Service. U.S. tax law mandates withholding on certain types of U.S. source payments to persons who are not residents or citizens of the United States. The amount of tax to be withheld depends on the nature of the payment, and where you are a resident. We have recently been advised by our legal counsel that we should request these forms from our submitters.
If you are a citizen or resident of the United States living abroad, please provide us with a signed, completed U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Form W-9, Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification.
If you are a resident of a jurisdiction which has an income tax treaty with the United States that provides for a reduced rate of withholding tax on royalties, you will need to complete U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Form W-8BEN, Certificate of Foreign Status of Beneficial Owner for United States Tax Withholding. We are in the process of installing an online version of Form W-8BEN, and we will notify you when the online form is available.
What happens if I do not complete a U.S. Form W-8BEN?
If you do not complete Form W-8BEN AndroidTapp will be required to withhold 30% of your earnings on U.S. source income and pay it to the U.S. Internal Revenue Service.
Do I owe any U.S. withholding taxes on my earnings from AndroidTapp for previous months?
No. If U.S. withholding tax should have been withheld from prior AndroidTapp payments to you, AndroidTapp is responsible for those withholding taxes.
How much will AndroidTapp withhold from my earnings?
The amount that AndroidTapp will withhold from your U.S. source earnings depends on what country you are a resident of, and the rate of withholding tax on royalty payments specified in the income tax treaty between that country and the United States. You can determine that amount by referring to the U.S. Internal Revenue Service website at: http://www.irs.gov/businesses/international/article/0,,id=96739,00.html
What happens if I move to another country?
If you move to another country you should complete a new Form W-8BEN which reflects your new country of residence.
Is there any other way to not have AndroidTapp withhold U.S. tax from my earnings?
If you are a citizen or legal resident of the United States, AndroidTapp will not be required to withhold tax from your earnings if you provide us with a properly completed U.S. Form W-9. Also, if you are engaged in a trade or business in the United States, and your earnings from AndroidTapp are connected with that trade or business, AndroidTapp will not be required to withhold from your earnings if you provide us with a properly completed U.S. Form W-8ECI.
I am a US citizen living abroad – Do I still have to fill out these forms and have taxes withheld?
No. If you are a citizen or legal resident of the United States, AndroidTapp will not be required to withhold tax from your earnings if you provide us with a properly completed U.S. Form W-9.
How do I submit my W8-BEN form to AndroidTapp?
Please fill out & sign electronically submit to this form.

Submitting Apps for Review
Do you charge for App Reviews?
Absolutely not! We are happy to review your apps, free of charge. We offer a risk-free Quick Track service to expedite your request to review your app within 3 business days.
I paid for Quick Track Review services and you reviewed my app but didn’t give it a good rating.
It is vital that you completely understand what our Quick Track Review service is. We do not charge for a review, this is a free service. However, we do charge for our Quick Track Review services which allows you to skip the line and ensures a review within 3 business days; while retaining the right to our editorial freedom of expression and your app will be judged under our same strict criteria. It does not guarantee you a favorable review, nor is it a payment for review.
How do I receive a refund of your Quick Track Review services?
If you are requesting a refund of our Quick Track Review services, this probably spawned from the fact that you did not agree with our review; and this is fine. However, this does not constitute eligibility for a refund. If we have assigned your app for review to a writer (in which you receive email confirmation of the date your app will be published), they then expedite it into their workload ahead of anything else they are currently working on, then start the review process; you will then be ineligible for a refund.
Only under two occasions do we offer a refund:
- You request a refund before we assign your app to a writer and send you confirmation.
- If we inaccurately or falsely review your app’s features.
If AndroidTapp misses a deadline quoted, will I be eligible for a full or partial refund?
Unfortunately this is not the criteria for refund. Please understand we get overwhelmed with review requests daily (an average of 50 per day), we will try our best to deliver on time or earlier than expected while still thoroughly and professionally reviewing your app(s). If we foresee we will not deliver in a timely manner we will contact you with an adjusted date.
What happens if my app is not working properly at the time of Quick Track Review services?
Ultimately, if your app does not work due to issues on your end (i.e. incompatibility with devices, server connection errors, constant force close, etc.) we will inform you of our findings. We will allow you 5 days to correct the issues and we can re-review the app without an additional Quick Track Review fee.
If, however, the issues persist we will consider the initial review findings informing you of the problems as a complete review and not place that information on our website; thus would consider it complete. Unfortunately if that happens, to be reviewed again would require you resubmit to our review queue or resubmit to our Quick Track Review services if you desire an expedited review.
What shall I do after submitting my App for review?
We receive tons of apps from developers, public relations companies, and enthusiasts on a daily basis to review. This means that we may not be able to review your app right away, but make sure the information you provide stands out enough for us to take notice. Until then, let your audience know you have submitted your app for review. We’ll let you know once the review for your app has been completed.
What else can I do to market my App?
We have many effective and creative ways that you can reach our audience with Advertising opportunities. You can also market your app by simply just spreading the word about the review! We are known worldwide for our app review expertise. If your consumers see that your app received a good rating from AndroidTapp, it may be enough for them to take the plunge and try it our for themselves!
Attention: Developers with Paid Apps
We understand that the limitations of the current app stores can often make it difficult to review some paid apps depending on how internal authorization of the app is developed. We are working diligently to make it as easy and painless as possible to ensure your apps can get reviewed. In order for us to review your application, we will need the APK file to use for testing and review purposes on our devices. Please contact us with the instructions on how to acquire the APK if you are unable to provide it in the submission form. If you require an email for LVL please use info AT androidtapp.com. Please note: we do not perform the “pay and refund” method for reviewing paid apps.

Advertising FAQs
General Advertising FAQs
Do you offer CPI (Cost Per Install) or CPC (Cost Per Click) rates?
Unfortunately we do not. We have recently switch our advertising model from flat rate to a CPM industry standard model.
Do you accept advertising agencies?
Unfortunately we prefer not to. We have used ad agencies in the past and all promise high CPM’s and fill rates, however, fail to succeed on that promise. Our bottomline becomes neglected and ultimately our high performing inventory becomes commoditized and devalued. Therefore we choose to sell directly. If you have an ad agency and would like to work with us please be informed that you will have to purchase directly from us at our set rates.
Do you accept Sponsored or Guest Posts?
Yes, please see our rates.
Do you offer text link ads?
Unfortunately we do not. Many of the text link requests we receive are apart of a “link building” ploy we do not prefer to be associated with. Mainly as they would negatively affect our rankings in Google search and the budgets are far too low for us to work with. Please respect our decision on this matter.
Do you bill NET 30/60/90?
Unfortunately we do not. All of our advertising models require payment upfront.
I’ve looked at your advertising page, however, we need more custom solutions- can you accommodate?
Yes we can, please feel free to contact us.
