Guns 4 Hire is a combat game soaked in action. You essentially control a team of four mercenaries as they complete dangerous missions. It’s quite simple to play, with a nice learning curve and plenty of instructions. If you like intense battle scenarios and team-based gameplay, be sure to give this a look. The game features superb graphics and sound and, although it’s a freemium title, in-app purchases are rarely necessary unless you want additional items.
Price: Free plus In-app Purchases

Content Rating: Medium Maturity
Pros & Cons:
Pros
- Nice graphics!
- Awesome sound!
- Lots of missions!
- Immersive action sequences!
Cons
- Could be more stable; sound, graphics, menus can stutter sometimes.
Features:
Guns 4 Hire puts you in command of a squad of tough mercenaries; L.T., Faraday, Burns and Boomer. Each has a different skill set and weapons and, as you progress and collect cash, can be upgraded and treated to new weapons. The visuals are very slick and view often sweeps in to allow you to see other aspects of the environment, like incoming vehicles or targets.
You control your troop my tapping on them and them selecting a target; either a space to move to or an enemy. Missions are quite diverse; from collecting intel, blowing up vehicles, wiping out ground forces to killing wanted individuals. It’s quite nice that there is such a range of objectives and this keep the game feeling quite fresh.
The game is a freemium title so expect the ability to significantly upgrade your team with in-app purchases. I didn’t find these to be essential to progress (whereas some games make it nigh on impossible to make it through levels without significant payment), but you do have a feeling that you are missing out. The game uses the dual currency of cash and diamonds; cash you collect, diamonds you pretty much have to buy. You can still get plenty of upgrades using just cash and the limited diamond stash you begin with though so there’s lots to fight for.
The game is overall quite smooth but there was the occasional glitch where things pause suddenly. It didn’t happen often enough for it to ruin the game but it creates slightly stifled experience. The game is fun to play but, for me anyway, it kinda lacked a killer feature to keep you playing. Bustling action games are quite common in the Google Play Store at the moment and, while this top down perspective is quite uncommon, it doesn’t provide an overly original experience.

Fun Factor:
I think there’s a lot to like about this game, especially if you are into action strategy games. It might not suit everyone, but if you value nice graphics, immersive sound and challenging gameplay, definitely consider it.
Addictive:
While the game is fun, I didn’t find it particularly addictive. Missions are heavily punctuated with menu systems and upgrade opportunities so the flow of the game can becomes a little stunted. To be honest this might suit some gamers, but I found it a bit frustrating at times.
Graphics:
The graphics are very good. The animations and visuals are great and extremely detailed. For its genre, it’s one of the best of its kind.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
The sound too is excellent. There are lots of v/o and combat effects that immerse the gamer into the action.
