Pros & Cons:
Pros
- The gameplay is easy to learn, but as you go it gets more challenging to pass each level.
- Really great cut-scene videos.
Cons
- In the free version, ads are in the way of the screen, making it hard to get to certain strands of the web.
- Each game starts zoomed in, and you have to double-tap to zoom out to see the whole board. And if you hit a strand of web while doing that, it will count it as a turn, instead of a zoom.
Features:
The first thing I thought when I started playing this game is that it’s like a spider version of Angry Birds. Instead of shooting birds at things, however, your goal is to block the spiders from eating the other insects by removing one strand of web at a time to prevent him from getting to them. The reason it reminds me of Angry Birds is the graphics style – the whole look and feel is very “Angry Birds” to me.
The game is fairly straightforward, but it is challenging – even on the lower levels before I got off the first stage, I found myself having to replay levels over and over again to get it right. One wrong move, and the spider will have an opening for insect dinner. You play in turns against the computer – you get to remove a strand of web, then the spider moves one space, and so on. Especially as the game starts adding multiple insects to save and more complicated webs, the challenge is that there’s multiple ways for the spider to maneuver towards your bug. Trying to outsmart it and save every insect to pass the level can get increasingly difficult.
Perhaps because of that difficulty right off the bat, I found the game to get a bit old after a while. I love a good challenge in a game, but when I’ve played the same level seven or eight times, and have done that for the last four levels, I’m ready to put the game down. I can see that in the later levels, but in an early level like 1:4? But for some players, this might add to the appeal rather than detract from it, and for them, it will be a welcome addition to their phone gaming repertoire.

Fun Factor:
The concept is good, but as I noted above, the challenge is there to start. This is both good and bad – it means it actually has something to keep you coming back and playing. However, it also means that in the early levels, you’re already replaying the same level over and over and over to get it right.
Addictive:
This has the potential to be a very addictive game. Like Angry Birds, the combination of graphics, story and gameplay is a compelling one.
Graphics:
This is where the game really stands out. The levels start with an extended cut scene to set the stage, and the levels themselves, while similar, have a cute look and feel.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
The game takes place in a country bar, where the insects are having a good time before the spiders interrupt, so the soundtrack matches that with a cartoony version of a country song. It’s catchy and adds to the overall gameplay.
