Gravity Project – escape the space station in this blistering fast Run & Jump 3D game Install

Gravity Project is a blisteringly slick 3D running game that drops you into a horrifying and futuristic space station. The aim is to get to the end of the level before the time runs out. Avoid obstacles and collect tokens in gameplay quite reminiscent of Temple Run and I Must Run. In gorgeously rendered graphics and with distinctly three-dimensional gameplay, will Gravity Project give Temple Run a ‘run’ for its money?

AndroidTapp.com Android Game Review:

Pros & Cons:

Pros

  • Lush 3D graphics!
  • Pulsating sound and music!
  • Simple to learn controls!
  • Challenging and addictive!
  • Fun and intuitive gameplay!

Cons

  • Controls occasionally inaccurate.

Features:

I have been playing Gravity Project for a few days now and its release has come just before the Android debut of Temple Run. I had heard of Temple Run due to its huge popularity on the iOS platform and have only recently had the opportunity to try it out. The similarities between the two games is acute and very subtle, but I’m unsure it would be fair to say Gravity Project is some kind of ‘copy’ or ‘ripoff’.

The game places you on some kind of space station, probably in the final throws of its destruction. You must run to reach the end of each level and relative safety. You swipe downwards to skid and swipe up to jump over the numerous hazards and obstacles that stand in your way. Unlike Temple Run, where you turn left and right, Gravity Project has you running up walls 360 degrees to avoid collisions. The effect is incredible and looks amazing. The camera angle changes giving you a slick perspective of your running direction. Weirdly, this doesn’t help much but looks pretty impressive!

Watch on Mobile

You collect tokens which increase your time and you’ll really need these if you want to survive. There are also bonuses to collect that offer  periodic invulnerability and the like. If you hit an obstacle it’s all over. I did find the controls occasionally to be under responsive but it’s nothing that could not be rectified with some updates. Gravity Project is a free game and without any ads, which is quite remarkable in its own right.

In a face off between Temple Run and Gravity Project I really can’t say which I prefer yet. Temple Run, no doubt with its burgeoning popularity now going multi-platform, will undoubtedly be downloaded more, but Gravity Run is still a cracking game and certainly worth a look. It is highly futuristic and very playable, perhaps if the evil monkeys get you down in Temple Run, this is a nice change.

Fun Factor:

Gravity Project is loads of fun and very enjoyable. There’s something intimately sweet about flicking perspectives and neatly sliding beneath an obstacle in a split second. I found that the controls do let you down occasionally but this aside, it’s a top-performing game that everyone should try.

Addictive:

Gravity Project is massively addictive and, with seven levels, each with several challenging stages, it will keep you coming back for more plenty of times before you complete it. The game becomes more and more about careful timing and knowing what to expect through practice. Games can be played quickly so it’s a casual game that can be played in short bursts as well as longer periods.

There are three different awards given at the end of each level, depending on how well you did- gold, silver and bronze. Additionally scores are accumulated and you can share the game on Facebook and Twitter. More than enough to keep you playing.

Graphics:

The graphics are perfectly smooth and robust, making gameplay leap from the screen. Changing perspective is a real highlight and is a very polished animation. Very very accurate visuals that just look superb. Perhaps even better than the rendering in its Temple escaping cousin?

Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:

The sound is very cool, a kind of pulsating electronica that is both futuristic and menacing. There are various sound effects too as you collect bonuses and a sickening crunch when you hit an obstacle. Ouch!

Should you Download Gravity Project? If you’re currently enjoying Temple Run, give this a go too. It landed on Android before its better known rival and offers even slicker gameplay. Time will tell which is the better game- we might someday perhaps do a showdown to face them off against each other. In the meantime, definitely try Gravity Project. Expect superb graphics, sound and gameplay- in addition to that brilliantly addictive pick-up-and-just-play element that is so intoxicating.
