Price: Free
Pros & Cons:
Pros
- Use your Android phone to control your Google TV!
- Use voice search from phone to control your TV
Cons
- Buggy, forces close and freezes phone often
- Has to find connected device every time
Features:
Back at Google I/O 2010 when Google TV debuted we saw the awe of controlling a Google TV from an Android smartphone. Even sexier was the ability to use your voice to search for content and load results onto your TV! Google has released their universal remote app aside from Logitech’s version. When the app is connected and working it is totally awesome; however in my use it has been extremely buggy, searches for connected device upon every launch and makes you wait, freezes the entire phone and often “Force Close”.
Once past the bugs and it’s working properly you can navigate with the arrow in Pointer Mode, as mentioned Voice Search, and use Swipe’n'Tap mode (at first this frustrated me because I assume to tap the directional arrows versus swiping in that direct). I guess this reduces unnecessary taps, however I would prefer simple taps on the directional pad.

Google TV Remote Quick Tips
Usefulness:
Google TV Remote app is a cool factor perk you can boast, convenient when you’re doing your “couch potato” thing and don’t want to get up the grab the remote (or call one of the kids), or when you misplace your remote.
Ease of Use:
Android Advice™ – How to Setup Google TV Remote app:
Of course you would need Google TV and an Android phone, plus Wi-Fi access from your phone to your Google TV connected device. My own personal setup is all wireless however it still will work if your Google TV is wired in, provided you have a wireless router for your phone to connect through. Assuming you have all that techno jazz setup, when you try to connect to your Google TV it gives a pairing code to enter into your phone. Enter it and connect!
Frequently Used:
Use it as often as your remote control needs desire.
