Google Play Gift Cards Available in the UK [Win £25 Gift Card]

After being spotted at a local Tesco supermarket, and confirmed by Paul’s Google Wallet payment options- a UK resident, we’re giving away a £25 Google Play gift card just because they’re now available in the UK! The gift cards can purchase not only apps but music, movies, TV shows, books & magazines from Google Play. One lucky person will be chosen as the winner at random by simply commenting below.

I can’t wait for these to come out so I can pay for apps via codes rather than having to use credit/debit cards better security IMO.

I won’t be upgrading to 4G until I’ve seen what tariffs the other networks are going to be offering when their networks start providing a similar service.

As I do most of my web-based stuff via my own Wi-Fi coonection and I already pay a pretty high contarct charge I doubt I’ll be persuaded to pay more for the privilegee of being able to read scam and spam mail even more quickly!

Coverage is everything, that’s why I don’t feel the need to upgrade from a very good 3G service to a poorer 4G one. You can’t have speed if you haven’t got signal!

I won’t be upgrading. There will be no coverage here for some time, we’re only just getting 3G and I can use up my allowance on that quickly enough. There is no point in broadband speeds when you only get a tiny data usage plan without spending stupid money.

I won’t consider 4G if the tariff has a data cap. What is the point of offering a big step up in speed if it primarily means you’ll hit your data cap faster?

About time ! Suprised that it’s taken so long for Google to catch up with these. Especially handy for kids. Extra cash for 4G ? No chance – saying that 3G coverage is so rubbish in the UK – if 4G made a big difference to this then it may be worth it

I can’t imagine myself needing anything higher than an uncapped hsdpa+ speed for mobile use. Even streaming 1080p HD videos is okay with that speed. For now I just cannot imagine any use of 4G for personal mobile use.

Given that most of the time I’m in WiFi areas (home, work, coffee shops, even trains now!) I barely use the data on my contract, and when I do need it I don’t find 3G especially slow – I don’t see any need to upgrade to a 4G phone and contract (especially with such low data caps on 4G – why pay for a faster connection when you’re still limited to 500MB/Month ?)

Not worth it at the moment. Coverage won’t be as good in parts of the country. Also, 4G might drain phone battery faster.

While it may be worth spending more for 4G access, the data limits make it pointless. If data is faster you need more of it, not less!

With WiFi available so many places these days I think it will be slow to pick up for phone usage.
A 4G MiFi or dongle would be more interesting for shared use on tablets and laptops though.

I don’t see the point in 4G right now as there isn’t much coverage and WiFi is pretty much available everywhere.

At last! Glad to hear Google Play gift cards in the UK have been confirmed! I’m fine with 3G and my current device does not support 4G anyway, as well as the current issue with coverage (4G is not in my local area yet).
