Google can Dominate with Android with Acquisition of Motorola Mobility for $12.5 Billion

Google will acquire Motorola Mobility for $12.5 Billion or ($40 per share in cash). The two companies have been in a strong business relationship in the past with Android emerging Motorola out of the ashes; now this is said to supercharge Android, enhance competition and streamline the user experience. Officials of the two companies say Motorola Mobility will remain a licensee of Android and Android will remain open source. In addition, they state Motorola Mobility will remain a separate business that Google will run. With this, acquisition also comes the much sought out patent portfolio Motorola Mobility owns; something Google yearns for in acquisitions of so many companies.
