Google Android and Nexus One Profitable

Google, alongside some hefty earnings has reported that the Android Market currently features more than 38 thousand applications (whereas Androlib reports 47 thousand). Just last September that number was reportedly hovering around 10 thousand. Now for all of my analytical friends out there, these numbers mean that the Android Market has grown an astonishing 280% in just under a year… Amazing! If this doesn’t show that Android is the next best thing then, we are in the wrong business.
Also profitable is the Nexus One, Google reporting more than 60,000 sold units activated daily. A contradiction to what many have analyzed by comparing it to Motorola DROID and iPhone’s first 74 day launch sales in a report. Google’s unique approach of marketing a smartphone online only seems to be working and proofing profitable for the company. We can expect to see more resources in Android as it advances in the mobile space.
