Godville – Zero Player Game that you don’t need to play. Tired of the games where you have to play 24x7x365 just not to feel like a loser? Godville is the answer! In this game you are god, and all you need to do is to create your own hero so he will do all these boring things you had to do in the other games. He will fight monsters, collect loot, earn gold, etc, leaving you to enjoy the only thing that matters in any game – lean back and have fun.
Godville is a zero-player game (ZPG), parodying everything from “typical” MMO games with their tedious level ups, to Internet memes and ordinary day to day things. The game might look strange at first sight, but don’t hurry to neglect it right away. Take a look on your hero for a couple days, look around and you won’t regret! There is whole game world in Godville and it’s continuously evolved based on ideas and suggestions from the community of players.
Price: Free
Pros & Cons:
Pros
- No effort or skills required whatsoever
- Web-based interface for logging in on the computer or from the app
- Highly-entertaining monsters, diary entries, etc. that are crowd-sourced
Cons
- No effort or skills required whatsoever
- If you do like RPGs, the lack of ability to really do anything could be a bit frustrating
- You can only read the 10 most recent diary entries, which are the most amusing part
The anti-RPG, this is the game where you do as little as you please and let the computer do all the work.
Features:
In this tongue-in-cheek, anti-RPG, the player is a”God” who has a hero running quests for them. You have the ability to encourage or punish them, and you can send down “voices from God” to try to influence them – but there are no guarantees the hero will pay attention. As your hero gains levels, the ability to do things like send them to the arena to battle other players pops up, but even there, you have limited ability to interact with them. Your hero is going to do whatever they want. This includes accepting and doing quests, looting items, selling items, and having a great time blowing all their gold on useless junk and a good time in the pub. As your hero quests, they’ll earn gold bricks to eventually put toward a temple built in your honor. Your hero will keep a diary of his or her adventures, of which you can read the last 10.
All of the items, monsters, even diary entries are crowd-sourced, submitted from players. As your hero levels, as a God, you’ll be able to offer suggestions as well. This makes for some very amusing reading. You can leave your hero alone totally and check on them once in a while and they’ll remain neutral, or you can choose to encourage or punish your hero, which will effect the way they view the world and the types of diary entries you’ll get. Leave them alone for too long, and they’ll return to neutral.

Fun Factor:
An amusing way to pass a few minutes a day and get a good chuckle.
Addictive:
Somewhat – it’s fun to go in and see what the latest entries are and what your hero is up to now.
Graphics:
None. This is entirely text-based, so there are no graphics to worry about, which also means there are no compatibility issues.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
Again, none. All you’re doing is reading about your hero’s adventures and giving him or her a boost when you feel like it.
