I love Gmote. I have a media center in my living room, and I watch a lot movies and tv shows on my laptop in my bed room. When watching episodes when going to bed it’s really nice to be able to start another one without getting out of bed.

The touchpad feature is great. It picks up all the slack when things don’t quite go as planned.

My biggest gripe is that I wish server client didn’t completely take over the player when it starts something. Sometimes I want to be able to stop or change something from my pc after I started it on my phone and vice versa. It’d be great if I could control from both places simultaneously.

Can’t download server. gmote.org is coming up with an over quota error. Is there an alternative download link?

I love this app! i just found out about playing files from your comp on your phone. But i was trying to play a dvd on the phone and i guess it has to link through a website and it says the website has down or has been moved. How do i get that to work?

Either way it is freaking cool even if you don’t have much need.

You nailed it! Gmote is a must have. I use my G1 as my remote for my Mythbuntu media server and my Windows Mediacenter PCs. It is a totally great app! Thank you for the comprehensive review!
