FxCamera is a small camera and photo-editing app for Android devices. It comes with a wide number of filters, each beneath different headings; Instant, Toycam, Symmetric, Fisheye, Poster and Normal Plus. This gives you around 40 different effects and filters in total. You can pluck a picture from your own gallery or use the app’s built-in camera. If you like fun photography on your device, definitely give it a go.

Pros & Cons:
Pros
- Loads of filters and effects!
- Built-in camera!
- Easy to use!
- Lets you use front facing camera!
Cons
- Lacks more professional features.
- Really low resolution pictures.
Features:
While these apps are pretty much ten-a-penny in the Google Play Store, I don’t think you have try out too many. One might just come along and really deliver something you’re looking for. I have to confess I am somewhat obsessed with these kind of apps and am always on the hunt for new ones to try out. I’ve reviewed a good share of them too, so many in fact I genuinely thought I had reviewed FxCamera before now!
FxCamera is a editing and camera combo app that lets you take pictures with a variety of settings, then edit them for saving to your gallery or sharing. You initially get to choose one of a few different ‘headings’, which determine the kind of pictures you are to take or the effect you want.
So, there’s:
- Instant- which are a range of basic filters
- Toycam- an additional range of simple but fun filters
- Symmetric- which symmetrically mirrors your picture against itself
- Fisheye- two filters which provide a spherically ocular look
- Poster- Andy Warhol-style neon effects
- Normal Plus- seemingly an additional pack of standard filters
These are all pretty fun to play around with and, with about 40 effects in total, there’s lots to experiment with.
The camera itself is quite simple without too many bells and whistles, although you can use the front facing camera with this app, if you want to do so. While it’s fun and straight forward to use, it’s not going to impress more serious photographers. Additionally, the resolution of pictures is incredibly low by default and there’s no way to increase the 800 x 600 shots, which fall way below the ability of most Android cameras.

Usefulness:
For taking quick snaps on the go or for applying some relatively cool effects and filters, it’s definitely worth a try. Although the resolution on the pictures are very low, it might just have the perfect filter you are looking for.
Ease of Use:
The app is fantastically easy to use and well designed.
Frequently Used:
This of course will depend on the user and how often they take pictures and might look to edit them using such apps.
Interface:
The interface is really nice, very polished and it works well. Despite being a free app, it is also devoid of all ads, so it’s a nice experience that is not hindered by spam.
