Froad – here’s a family-friendly & addictive bug snatching game
Dec 18, 2012 10:38 AM –
Froad is a beautifully challenging and fun arcade-style game where you play Froad (Frog/Toad). Froad has to eat as many good bugs as he can and avoid the bad ones. His demands change constantly so you have to keep up with his requirements. It’s lots of fun and certainly engaging enough to entertain both adults and children alike but.

Pros & Cons:
- Beautifully animated graphics!
- Challenging gameplay!
- Nicely implemented sound!
Froad is an incredibly simple game where you have to feed Froad. Just tap the screen where the bug he wants to eat is crawling or flying and his super-fast tongue will shoot out and grab it – NOMNOMNOM! As levels progress (these are set in days where there is a daytime and nighttime) the game gets harder in that there are far more bugs about. There are good bugs which he can eat and bad ones which make him ill. You have to keep going until he runs out of energy and dies. The challenge is to last as long as you can!
There are several types of good and bad bugs and Froad’s thought bubble tells you which one he wants to eat next. Avoid the bad bugs at all costs! Days get tougher as more and more bugs are about and you have to be accurate and have a good sense of timing to catch the ones you need. It does get easier with practice, but you need to have a sharp eye and fast reflexes at times.

The game is perfect for children and is lots of fun. It’s also typically good for adults who want a mindless preoccupation while travelling or commuting. It’s incredibly simple to play yet nicely challenging at the same time.

The game is lots of fun and will suit children and adults alike. It is challenging but also very rewarding when you complete a tough day. It reminded me a little of Cut The Rope so you might find that if you like that, you’ll also like Froad.
I think the game definitely has that ‘just one more go’ factor that people find so compulsive. Days do not last very long so it’s a superbly casual game to play and waste away some time with.
The graphics are cute- certainly a little like the aforementioned Cut The Rope. Sweet, cartoony and brilliantly animated.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
The music is wonderfully simple and twee and suits the game well. There are also bountiful forest sound effects throughout.
