Peter Skillman, the former vice president of design at smartphone maker Palm, talks candidly about the user experience on iPhone, Android and Windows Phone. In summary he said iPhone is easy to use and intuitive but a “Fisher Price phone” due to the lack of true multi-tasking, meaning simultaneously run several applications. He used a Samsung Captivate and really likes the overall Android experience, going on to say the Captivate is “quality of hardware” and “incredibly rich applications catalog“. Applauded phones made by HTC but cautioned the mass appeal of large screen phones like HTC Evo. His opinion on Windows Phone was Microsoft is taking a “good crack” at attracting business users and making their new OS “relevant” in the marketplace, but didn’t like their approach to license the OS to manufacturers.
I have slightly different opinions, but what are your opinions here? Are they inline with the former VP or differ? Tell us in the comments below!
