May 23, 2013 2:39 PM –
Florist One is a convenient app for ordering floral arrangements on your phone or tablet. Their secret sauce uses local florist to deliver flowers to you same day or next (in the United States and Canada.) You’ve got to see the beautiful arrangement I scored for my wife in this review!
Price: Free App, Various Priced Floral Arrangements
Tested on: Samsung Galaxy S4
Pros & Cons:
- Beautiful floral arrangements!
- Order flowers from your phone or tablet!
- Same day or next day delivery!
- Great customer service!
- Doesn’t save your cart items or order history.
- Can’t expand product photos.
Florist One allows you to easily browse floral arrangements by occasion, type, and price. According to the service description they have a network of over 20,000 local FTD and Teleflora florists in the U.S. and Canada, hence why deliveries are so fast. Each section includes various lists of products, which you can dive into the each description to see approximate sizes, brief description, and of course drop it in the cart to purchase. Checking out sends you to a page to enter a special note followed by delivery and billing info. Finally concluding with in-app confirmation and an email confirmation. I even received a call from the service to confirm things, I believe this extra check was only due to my billing and delivery addresses being the same (you’d typically ship elsewhere) to ensure no mix-ups… followed by a delivery email.
Florist One – What I Received
I really like the service and potential of the app but found a few hiccups along the way, but first a few facts about myself. I personally buy flowers often for my wife for no reason plus the special times, and for my mother & other female family members on special occasions, however, I have never used an online florist because my local florists are amazing. I’ve always found online retailers to be too expensive and this is true for Florist One. I found a bouquet of balloons within the app for $43 bucks, I get them local for less than half that price. The arrangement I ordered via the app can also be purchased locally just above half the app’s price. I didn’t incur shipping and taxes but did have a $12.99 service fee. I totally understand the retailer has to make a profit but price is my personal reason why I wouldn’t use the service. So why did I use it? We wanted to fully disclose to our readers that Florist One did provide $100 for the sole purpose of using towards the service.
Other minor kinks includes the fact that you cannot truly save items in the cart. For example, I started an order a few times and got side tracked a few times. Each time I had to start from scratch rather than from the cart. Also I would like to expand thumbnails to see full screen photos, so hopefully that minor features gets added.

Ease of Use:
The Florist One app is really easy to browse and order with just a few kinks in the ordering experience but I foresee those being null in the next update.
Deemed for occasional usage, it can be frequented in preparation for special events.
The interface is elegant, the overall experience makes ordering easy and convenient on a mobile device.
