AndroidTapp.com Android App Review:

Pros & Cons:

Pros

  • Slick RSS feed reader that syncs with your Gmail Google Reader service
  • Update: it says you can login with Google Reader accounts ending in “@gmail.com”, but you CAN login with any Google account!

Features:

FeedSquares Android App is an RSS Reader that pulls feeds from your Google Reader account. It allows you to log in or out with various Google accounts. RSS feeds are placed in rectangles/squares you swipe through containing article title, pic if available, toggle read and unread status, mark as favorite, mark shared with Google Reader, read full articles or link to full website, and share via email or other social sharing apps you have installed.

Usefulness:

If you’re like myself, searching for an all inclusive RSS reader app has been a tough journey on Android; searching for an app that includes easy ways to search and add feeds, easy mobile formatted reading, links to full web if desired, and Google Reader integration. FeedSquares actually does an excellent job of filling these voids! NewsRoom probably comes the next closest to this ideal solution less Google Reader integration. RSS readers are very useful to those who want to keep up with their favorite blogs and websites, get the meat of the content and be versatile between as many as they choose.

Ease of Use:

Once logged in, the app can be straight-forward as it pulls in the RSS feeds for your Google Reader account (that’s where you manage your feeds). However it does lacks notifications and a method to auto-fresh content (but can be loaded manually).

Frequently Used:

Really dependent on your feed reader habits and needs. Could possibly be used multiple times daily!

Interface:

The user interface is probably the most stand out and unique with how it delivers your RSS feed content snippets in feed squares… get it. ;)

  1. Hey Antonio thanks for the review, it’s the developer here. Actually while it shows a “@gmail.com” you can enter an apps domain account and it will work. Would show it better in next version. =P Actually, we have gathered lots of feedback after the initial release and there will be a major revamp coming up. Please stay tuned and thanks for the lovely site!
