fBook is an Android app that allows you to interact with your Facebook account from your T-Mobile G1 or Android powered device by Next Mobile Web.

AndroidTapp.com Review:

Features:

fBook has 6 main features: Home, Profile, Friends, Inbox, Search, and Photo Uploading.

  • Home has your normal Facebook features such as News Feeds (from your friends), Events and Friend Requests.
  • Profile contains your Info, Wall and Photos. You can’t change your Info and Edit Photos via fBook, but can write a post on your Wall.
  • Friends allows you to check your friends Status, see who’s Online and your friends Photos posted.
  • Inbox contains your recent messages. You can Compose, view Sent messages and Edit them.
  • Search pulls up an iPhone-like interface for searching your friends or anyone on Facebook.
  • Photo Uploading allows you to easily send pics from your Android phone to your Facebook account.
  • You can also receive and control the frequency of Facebook alerts sent to the notification bar of your Android phone.

FYI, fBook only offers a few features over the official mobile WAP version Facebook developers created for any phone. But at least it’s a better attempt than the MySpace Mobile app for Android.

Gripe Alert: when you log into fBook, it logs you out from your desktop session and vice versa. (Unsure why, but believe it may be a Facebook API issue…)

Usefulness:

The useful feature is the Photo Uploading while mobile and the notifications that you can receive.

Ease of Use:

fBook is straight-forward and easy to use, very similar to the desktop version of Facebook.

Frequently Used:

Frequency of use is dependant on the user. If you’re always on Facebook, then you’ll value this Android App .

Interface:

The user interface and graphics resembles the official Facebook website; clean and easy to navigate (with some slightly jerky transitions).

yeah I’ve used this and It works well. My only gripe is trying to comment on someone’s status is lacking. I don’t know if I just haven’t found out where to do it, but so far I haven’t been able to do it.

If they fix that, it would be better.

How is this app more improved (other than the notification and the pic upload) than the online mobile app? Does anyone know? It takes up a lot of space on the phone. Just curious.

  5. Kyle says:

the app is def worth downloading. The only gripe I have is the only gripe I have about the entire G1 phone. The page never stays rendered, and constantly needs to be rerendered, which can take a while if you live where theres only shitty edge like me.

  6. Tony says:

I had this app on my first g1 a week ago. brilliant, great for uploading pictures on the go. My g1 broke and I now have a new one, now i can’t find it on the market?????

  7. Name says:

does anybody have this on the g1 and if so did i work right i tried it but it didn’t have that interface look it want to a regular interface like on my psp look and i don’t like that as much as the one shown here did i do something wrong? and when you get it on the g1 did you also get that moo? software that it recommended and if so what did that do to help?

  8. Tony says:

Yes I have it back on my G1 now, all apps that accessed phone settings dissapeared for a few days, they all came back after the cupcake update, dunno if it was the market or my phone.

It works fine for me, I have got Moov now, havn’t used it yet though, it looks like its kind of a search engine for your phone/facebook/quickpedia, and some local search. I’ve found no use for it yet though. The pictures above are exactly as I saw it.

fBook appears to have been removed from the market. Does anyone know how I can still get the app?

  10. Ian says:

Can anyone help me locate this app? i really want it for my magic.

  11. Lucas says:

I don’t see it in the market anymore, nor do I see a QR code anywhere on this page to scan. I can’t find this app anywhere…please help!

  12. Lincoln Atwood says:

I just removed it. There were a lot of bugs and it wouldn’t log in. Not exactly sure why. The last comments I got from the reviews for it, were that a lot of people were experiencing the same problem.

  13. kevin says:

The developer has a new facebook app out now. I forget what it’s called (something like bloo). I have babbler light and, think it’s really good. It does most things I want for a facebook app.

  14. superjamie says:

This app is essentially just m.facebook.com and x.facebook.com in tabs. Big deal.

  15. Mimii says:

    where can i download this?:/
