Pros & Cons:
Pros
- Quick reference guide to see the nutrition information for popular fast food restaurants
- Has the vast majority of popular food chains, with more coming, according to the developers
Cons
- While it has a lot of food chains, it doesn’t have them all, so it’s usefulness will be based on whether or not you have/eat at those locations.
Features:
If you’re trying to loose weight, or just eat better, then Fast Food Calorie Counter is a great little app to have on your phone. It’s a quick reference to see at a glance the calories, fat, carbohydrates, protein and fiber in the menu items for a wide range of fast food chains.
I actually found this more useful and readable on the small screen than on the tablet, since it does scale, but the icons are still the same size as on the phone, making it a bit harder to see them. Plus, this is the kind of thing I want to have with me all the time, for a quick peek when I’m on my way to get get something to eat, and while the tablet does go with me almost everywhere, the phone is pretty much always attached to my side and is easily accessible.
Within the app, the menu items are broken down by categories, with most of them that I tested, for example, given breakfast, then chicken and other items, then hamburgers and similar types of foods, and finally dessert. It is very logically laid out, making it easy to find what you’re looking for. Another really fantastic feature? When you’re in a restaurant’s menu, you can bring up the option to sort by a wide range of things, from the category, which is the default, to the item name, to sorting by every variable the app offers on the food items. If you’re on a specific diet or are watching one particular thing closely – like high protein items, or low carbs – then this is a serious time saver to be able to just sort and see what your best bets are for that particular restaurant.

Usefulness:
This is probably one of the more useful apps out there if you’re trying to watch your weight. Sure, there are other calorie look-up tools, some free, some paid, but this one does exactly what it says – it focuses on fast food and gives you the pertinent information in a very easy to use format.
Ease of Use:
It really couldn’t be easier. The main page has all the restaurants in alphabetical order, with each of them showing their logo as well, making it even easier to find the one you want. And once you choose a restaurant, the data is laid out in a very clean, logical way that makes it super fast to get what you need and get on with your day.
Frequently Used:
If you’re trying to watch what you eat and you’re a fast food junkie (by choice or because that’s what you’re stuck with) then this is a seriously must-have app. You’ll use it every time you go out to eat.
Interface:
The main menu is graphical, and the food information is textual, but again, it’s all very clearly laid out, and easy to sort based on what your personal preference is.
