Fashion Queen is an online tycoon game where your goal is to be the top fashionista! Played like an online board game, you work your way to the top performing every modeling gig you can think of as you sprint from each major runway mecca city, earning cash while building, battling other models, making friends and even picking up a few boyfriends along the way!

Features:
Fashion Queen is a tycoon builder game for the fashionista! (I brought out my lil fashioinista to help me with this review… you’ve probably seen the cute little tike host our Android apps review show, Tech Kid.) If you’re not familiar with this style of gaming, then you’re in for a crash course. In this variant, your goal is to be the world’s top model by completing several tasks under the Work section. However, here’s a great segue to get you familiar with the health meter along the top. This is important because every interaction is centered around this.

From left to right is: your level, points based on work completed, money earned (either from Work or Building), Energy, funds that will be earned each hour, Health & Stamina (from Battles with other models), Diamonds (which you buy with real cash), and your friends (via friend codes).
When you work the cities, you may be required to buy articles of clothing. This is a good thing as you should head over to the Wardrobe section and jazz up your model because these items help you in battles with other models. Each city has several tasks that may require several attempts at the task to eventually complete the group of tasks; do this and you complete the level and gain Skill Points, which can be used to add more Energy, Health, Stamina, Attack & Defense cred.
Battles are essential to connecting online with worldwide as you have it out with others within your skill bracket. Lose battles and you lose money, health and more; on the flip-side when you win you gain that… so it’s good to always upgrade your fashion queen’s wardrobe. A new and interesting feature the developers added to shake up some of the repetition is the Boyfriend feature. The games says, “the more Boyfriends you have, the more skills you can use during Battle.” How’s that for teaching your little princess about monogamous relationships? Oh, you arrange your boyfriend with a dating agent.
Building is also essential to stacking paper so you have the cash to buy the things you need in the Shop or for Work. When you own some property this accumulates your cash, attack and defense every hour depending on which you own.
Overall the game hits on many factors that keep you coming back. But it needs a lot of work in regard to user experience. First, it force closes, a lot and at random or when you press the Back button (if your phone has it). We had to pass this app through a few of our devices before finding the one that it worked properly on. It formats poorly on the first gen Galaxy Tab 10.1 and even worse on an older Android phone (lots of scrolling left/right in addition to up/down). Speaking of scrolling, you’ll notice some tabs get stuck and you have to tap them a few times just to scroll. 
Lastly, it’s sad to see some of the screens respond soooo slowly or even crap out leaking the Amazon cloud URLs.

Fun Factor:
As Paul Wilks says about these games, it’s either something you either love or hate. Also borrowing from him is the “threshold” level is set perfectly, meaning it gives you a nice length of time for gameplay while not forcing you to spend real cash in order to progress as we’ve been noticing with some games as of late.
Addictive:
By nature these types of games are quite additive as they tend to stop you for a while and definitely give you incentive to come back. If the developers had preference, it would be every hour! Working hard in the game rewards you in plenty of virtual cash, clothes, properties, boyfriends and your name on the global ranking list.
Graphics:
Graphics are bright and cheeky. Don’t expect some fancy 3D environment but in the style of a mobile game board.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
Upon intro you get a fancy VH1-esque runway ditty and sound effects upon menu press, I guess this is intended to put you in that mood of a fashion diva.
