Pros & Cons:
Pros
- One place to store literally all your information in one place, including reward cards, credit cards, pin numbers, passwords, etc.
Cons
- Password hint is always on the login page
- Unless you remember to go into the menu to lock the app, or let the phone lock while the app is at the front, it will let you in without the password. So if you forget to lock, and someone picks up your phone, they can go in and see all the information you have stored there. Counter-productive!
- The Add New option has so many choices it’s almost overwhelming
eWallet Go is an all-in-one wallet for Android. It allows you to store everything from reward card numbers to credit cards to insurance information, and more.
Features:
This is an “all in one” app that allows you to store almost every important number, like credit cards, insurance, etc., in one place on your phone. It’s a great idea, but in practice, it’s almost too much information.
Under the “add a new card” menu option, there are 29 options. They range from credit cards to prescriptions to insurance numbers, to voter card information. When you first open it up, unless you already have a solid idea of exactly what you want to store in the app, trying to decide what to put in isn’t easy. It’s option overload. Of course, on the flip side, having all those templates ready to go, if you are planning to store all that information in one place, makes it easier than trying to input it all starting with a blank slate. The other problem is that all that information has to be typed in manually. If you do plan to store all of that information in the app, getting it all is a very time-consuming process.
You can use pre-made categories such as Personal and Business to make finding your information easier, and you can also add your own, for example keeping a file of each member of your household, with their insurance information, emergency contacts, even clothing sizes all together.
The auto-lock feature will lock the app down if you get a call or lock the screen while inside the app. However, if you leave the app without locking it, when you go in again it will still be open. This makes me a bit nervous when it comes to storing so much sensitive information, especially when, if you use it to it’s fullest potential, it’s your entire life, neatly categorized. I also really don’t like that the password hint is always on the main page. If you do loose your phone, this just makes it that much easier for someone to figure out how to get into the program and access the data stored there.
