AndroidTapp.com Android App Review:

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Store endless information with the ability to quickly recall with one-word search
  • Synchronization between your Android phone and the online Evernote site for access anywhere

Cons

  • Must have internet access to retrieve information, data not stored natively.

Features:

Evernote is a mobile note app that allows you to log, index, and search for all of your information in one place.  Plus, Evernote offers synchronization between your Android phone and the web so you’ll have all your info wherever you go.

Usefulness:

Being able to take a picture and have Evernote index and record the actual text within the picture is awesome.  Now you can take a picture of notes on a white board or someone’s info on a business card and immediately recall it just by searching for a single word embedded in the picture.  There are many features to this app that make it exceptionally functional.

Frequently Used:

Depending on how often you like to record what you see around you, what you’re thinking, or information you need to store, this app could very well be used on a daily basis.  This app might be the most useful for students, aspiring authors, the average Joe, or entrepreneur.

Interface:

This app is well polished with professional looking icons that invite you to consistently come back to using the app. Definitely a plus here.

If you want an application like this I really think you should try “uNote”. It’s available on the Market for Android 1.6 and above.

  2. I’ll definitely check it out, thanks for the heads up!

3banana is better. Offline sync, faster.
Evernote is really useless until it has offline sync (nice UI though …)

Best and most useful app you can put on your phone – period. Uses are endless and plenty of room furnished for free. The interface is simple, appealing, and works flawlessly. Try searching for ‘Evernote uses and you can get an idea of the many applications for this great app.

  5. vrykolas says:

I love/use Evernote for Android. But I find it annoying that I can’t fully edit all notes. For example, if a note is created in the Windows-version with formatting (like bold/underline/bullets), I can only APPEND text in Android… I can’t edit the existing text….

  6. Arielle says:

    can this backup text messages?

  7. arielle says:

is this app able to save text messages with certain people? so that i can save the entire sms thread?

  8. Obviously, a set of notes, in and of itself is a valuable thing. However, said set of notes becomes much, much more valuable if the notes themselves are related in an appropriate manner.

Having context gives you a lot of benefits. For example, context enables both easy and quick discovery of information saving you time. Furthermore, context enables you to expand your knowledge without the risk of your knowledge becoming disjointed or fragmented.

Hence, PolishedCode‘s NotesMappr’s distinguishing feature is the ability to both establish formal relationships (or associations) between notes and subsequently “navigate” said notes in a very straightforward manner.

NotesMappr: semantic note taking app for Google’s Android platform. In other words, NotesMappr is note taking that fits your brain.
