Features:
ESPN ScoreCenter is a great app for sports fans. Whether you like Baseball, American football or Ice Hockey, or perhaps prefer Rugby and Cricket, this app is especially for you.
I guess what’s great about the application is that it pretty much covers all the top team games. There are a few apps out there that include 2 or 3, and lots which specialize in a particular sport, but ESPN ScoreCenter would appear to be far more comprehensive. It does lack coverage of the more individualistic sports such as Athletics and Tennis, which is a shame, but the big sports are all included. I personally found it good to see the app include more European sports too, such as Football, Rugby and Cricket.
It is presented as a series of scrollable panels: one that shows your teams’ news and latest scores, others that show league news- so, say you follow the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team, you can get the latest scores, news and standings of the MLB, and so on. There is also a final screen which advertises ESPN’s other apps- ESPN ScoreCenter is a free app, so you can’t blame them for advertising like this, at least it’s relevant to sports fans! These screens are simple to scroll through and configure as and when you need to. News items can be read by tapping on them, but full recaps of most games link to the ESPN website for more analysis.
As mentioned, the app lets you follow the teams you support and places all their latest info in one screen. So (and I’m picking teams here at random) say you follow Liverpool (Football), Boston Redsox (Baseball), Boston Celtics (Basketball) and the Chicago Bears (American Football)- the latest scores and news from each of these teams all appear in one handy screen. Incredibly simple and easy to follow.
If you really are into ESPN coverage, and perhaps have registered with the ESPN website, you might be pleased to know the app syncs with your account here. Therefore, the teams and coverage you subscribe to on their website is channelled directly through to your Android. Pretty neat.

Usefulness:
For fans of top level sports, this is a great application. It’s useful for keeping up to date with scores, fixtures, news and videos for your favourite teams. It’s simple to use and easy to configure. If you have an account with the ESPN website you can sync information between the web and the app- it couldn’t be easier to stay in touch with your favourite sports.
Ease of Use:
Configuring the app only takes a few minutes as you add the teams you want to follow. The menus are simple to navigate and very responsive, I encountered no freezing or force closures. Once set up the app updates regularly and is a breeze to use.
Frequently Used:
I imagine you might use this more at the weekends- when most games are played, but you can use it throughout the week to monitor transfer news, and breaking events in the sports you are interested in. Like any good news app, it updates regularly and is usually accurate and well informed.
Interface:
The interface isn’t the most polished we sometimes see on Android news apps, but the app subsequently caters for all kinds of devices. Therefore it ‘should’ work on pretty much all Androids. The menus and layouts are clear and precise. The app is simple to navigate and understand.
