Drop7 by Zynga is a clever and challenging puzzle game. Like a beefed up Connect 4, the aim of the game is to drop discs into a 7×7 grid to make groups of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7. Easy in principal but captivating and tough in reality. How long can you survive?

Features:
Drop7 by Zynga is a brilliant little puzzle game. You drop discs into a grid to make lines of numbers either horizontally or vertically. So, if you drop the number 1 on its own, it will disappear. Drop a number alongside a 2 and the 2 will disappear. You will need to drop a 7 disc to complete an entire column or row. Gameplay gets very cool when you set off a chain reaction where several discs are cleared. While Drop7 is an incredibly simple game, there are three different modes: NORMAL, HARD and SEQUENCE. In NORMAL mode you get a mixture of grey and coloured discs drop and a levels push up from the bottom every so often- getting more frequent as you progress. HARD is faster and without grey discs to bulk out the grid. Like NORMAL mode, SEQUENCE mode is actually a universally set sequence of disc drops that is the same for every Drop7 player- ideal if you’re comparing scores with friends, a completely level playing field!
As you progress through a game you occasionally get chain reactions that give you a load of bonus points, play strategically if you can to make the most of these. As levels are added to the bottom you are pushed higher up the board- avoid a disc reaching the top of the game is over. Gameplay gets progressively harder and more challenging as you move through the levels so ensure you have your wits about you and a quick-thinking mind.
Drop7 is a delightfully challenging puzzler with great re-playability and can easily become highly addictive. If you like number games or are just a puzzle-fiend in general, this will probably be right up your street. After a few games it becomes very engrossing and it’s easy to lose a lot of time playing this game.
The graphics are pretty good, as you’d expect that from a game with the Zynga badge on it, but I really liked the simple design features and responsive user interface. Being able to see how you match up on the global leaderboard, and the ability to share your score on Zynga, favourite web-nest, Facebook is also useful for competitive gameplay. The only thing about the game I wasn’t content with was the price; for what it is, it’s more than a little steep. Perhaps if they had brought the price down below the $1 mark I’d be far more likely to recommend you download.

Fun Factor:
Drop7 is lots of fun and reminded me a lot of Connect 4, only with loads of extra features. Games get quite frenetic and it’s real busy when you clear half the board with a well-timed chain reaction.
Addictive:
As with most puzzlers, once you get into the game it becomes highly addictive and hard to put down. I have found it very easy to become deeply engrossed and lose quite a bit of time. The game remembers your position if you need to put it down for a while (this works but sometimes you seem to lose your score?!) so it is usually easy to get stuck back into the action.
Graphics:
The graphics are quite basic really, coloured discs on a grey and black grid. People might expect more from Zynga, but it has to be said the game design and theme is very slick and polished.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
The sound is pretty good, a neat futuristic soundtrack with bursting sound effects when you make discs disappear. The game vibrates at the end of each level- useful when your captivated by the gameplay.
