Cons

- If not force-closing, it freezes regularly.
- The camera view is often just blacked out and you have to guess to place the effect.
- You can’t save the effected photos to view outside the app, unless you share them.
- In-app instructions aren’t translated particularly well, which can be confusing.
- Effects don’t always download, this usually leads to freezing.
- Unable to add effects to existing photos.
- Effects come up in the camera viewer in landscape mode only.
DrCrop is described as a ‘photomontage’ service, so if you’re looking for a Farmville helper application, you have come to completely the wrong place. DrCrop basically allows you to choose an effect (sometimes called a ‘part’ in the app), for example a penguin, a funny wig or a screaming gorilla and superimpose this image into your photo-viewer. When you take the picture, the image appears in the shot too, to amusing effect.
Features:
DrCrop is a basic photo enhancement application that lets you add effects to your photos as you take them. There is a nicely laid out website, which you must register with before you use the app. The website allows you to view different effects (Called ‘parts’) and create new ones. The effects themselves are quite good, you can make it look as though the person in your picture is holding a baby panda or kicking a full-size car. I managed to make it look like a kangaroo was lying in my garden, however before I could do anything with the image, the app froze and I had to restart my phone to use the app again. Here lies the problem with this app, regular freezing and force closing. I played with DrCrop on and off for a day, and only managed to make 4 ‘photomontages’.

Usefulness:
It breaks no boundaries on photo editing, but if the app worked it could be a fun application to have.
Ease of Use:
Unfortunately the application suffers from not being particularly well translated from its native language. This makes use a little confusing and you’re forced to go through a process of trial and error to achieve what you want. The other issue is that you never know when it’s going to freeze up, which for me it did regularly.
Frequently Used:
The way the app is at the moment, you don’t feel you have much choice but to uninstall it. However, if you got part-way to making a ‘photomontage’ you will appreciate that conceptually the app is a great idea, just frustratingly unstable.
Interface:
Aside from the language issues and freezing, the interface looks quite fresh and well designed. The screens seem to flow without too much hitch. The effects sometimes take a little while to download, which is a little disappointing, but with some polish it could be quite nice to use.
