Draw Something is Drawsome! The Most Addictive game since Angry Birds Install

Draw Something is like Pictionary meets Hangman classic games! It is a turn-based drawing game where you try to guess a friend’s or random opponent’s drawing to earn coins used to purchase advances within the game. Whether you have friends on the platform or not, it works across Android and iOS so there’s sure to be plenty to strike an addictive match with.

AndroidTapp.com Android App Review:

Pros & Cons:

Pros

  • Very addictive turn based game to guess what someone is drawing and vice-versa.
  • It’s cross platform, so it doesn’t even matter if your friends haven’t discovered Android yet.
  • Odds are good most of your friends are playing it already.
  • A serious level of hilarity.

Cons

  • Once you start, you can’t stop playing.

Features:

Draw Something is the latest mobile game sensation, and to be honest, it lives up to the hype. Once I started playing, I couldn’t stop spamming my friends, looking for more people to play with. Fortunately, a lot of them were already playing, so I’ve got a good list now, and constantly have new things to draw.

At its core, Draw Something is basically a digital version of the old Pictionary game. You get a word, and you have to find a way to draw it. Then, your friend has to try and guess what it is you’re depicting. You do get a set of letters for each round, but don’t think that makes it any easier. Because I freely admit, I’ve been stumped quite a few times. The game is turn-based, so you don’t have to be online at the same time as friends to play. You log in to the app when you have the time, play your rounds and send them. And when your friends get the time, they do the same.

As you play, you earn coins that you can use to purchase bombs, which are used to reduce the number of letters to choose from and make it a bit easier to guess what the picture is, or you can use them to buy more sets of colors, expanding your ability to draw. You can also purchase coins with real money, via in-game transactions, if you want to go that route. Also, in addition to removing the adds, the paid version comes with extra coins and bombs to get you started.

Let me be clear about something – I am not an artist, and honestly, I think the bad art from my other non-artist friends and myself are hilarious. That’s a good part of the fun. I am also amazed by what my artist friends can do with the same program, so no matter what your skill level is, just dive in and start playing.

That said, like a lot of other players, I have found that after a while, you want more precise control than what your fingers provide. No matter who you are or how talented you are, eventually you will curse your own fat fingers. I actually have a stylus, so I tried it with that, and there is a huge difference. So if you find yourself becoming a Draw Something addict, you’ll probably eventually want to get one, if you don’t have a stylus already. It’s not required, but it does make it a little easier to get precise drawings.

Fun Factor:

Seriously, this is a fun game, no matter what your art level is. Don’t let a lack of artistic talent stop you from trying this game out with your friends.

Addictive:

I can’t stop playing this game. It’s fun, it’s quirky, and it’s interesting to see how your friends think, based on how they interpret different words. Once you start playing, you’ll be on a quest to find more friends to play with.

Graphics:

The graphics of the interface are clean and a little cartoony, but it fits in perfectly with what the game actually is. But the real star in the graphics department is you and your friends, and what you create.

Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:

There are sound effects for things like choosing new brush sizes or colors, sending your drawings, etc, but I turned them all off. They don’t add or detract from the game in any way, so it’s really a personal preference, whether or not you like audio feedback for when you do something.

Why review apps that have been out for a while to the point that everyone already knows about it? New apps please.

Hi! thanks for your comment. We try to review a mix of apps, and there are people that might have heard of this one, but don’t know what it is, or if it would be something they would be interested in. We’re trying to make sure there’s a little something here for everyone, from those on the cutting edge of new apps, to those who might lag a little behind, but still want to hear about what’s interesting and fun. Hope that helps clarify it a bit!

I don’t understand why this game needs so many security permissions. They don’t need to know my location for example.
