Jul 9, 2013 11:36 AM –
doo is a useful document management tool which allows you to access all your documents, whether they be located on your device or in any of your cloud storage spaces quickly and easily from your Android device. The app features a tagging function which allows you to locate the documents you’re looking for in double-quick time. It’s a simple app to use and, although you have to individually log in to your cloud services, from then on it’s a user-friendly hub for all your electronic docs.
Tested on: Nexus 4
Pros & Cons:
- Easy to set up!
- Tagging system lets you locate documents very quickly!
- Lets you download and share documents!
- Syncs with Windows too!
- Limited to Google and Dropbox access.
- No built in reader.
doo, in a nutshell, is a central hub for all your documents. These might already be located on your device, on your computer at home or on some of your cloud storage spaces such as Dropbox and Google Drive. The beauty of doo is that it puts all these spaces under one roof and allows you to search for your documents across all spaces. Can’t remember where you put your essay? Or latest sales figures? Maybe you’re writing a novel and it’s located on your computer at home… doo lets you find documents very quickly.
Initially, and this is sluggish bit, you have to log into your cloud spaces. The good news is that this doesn’t take long and once you have attached them to your doo account, it’s done and you will not have to log in again. doo is a little limited in the sources you can attach. For example, if you’re a SugarSync or Box.net user, you will be unable to access the files contained there. It’s essentially limited to documents stored in either your Dropbox or Google accounts.

The app uses an intelligent tagging system which allows you to find documents quickly, regardless of where they are located. You can then easily download the file and have it saved on your device. There’s no document viewer in the app, you will have to make sure you have something that will display your documents once you have downloaded them. Once downloaded however, it is easy to share your docs in various ways, making the app very useful if you have to manage a number of documents for different purposes.
The app can be synced across your Windows computer if you’re running Windows 8. Essentially you can download a W8 app and see and access your documents on your screen. It’s also available on OSX and coming soon to iPhone and iPad.

If you are principally a Dropbox or Google Drive user, doo is a powerful and user-friendly hub for all your stored documents. It’s very useful and allows you to access your files anywhere. It’s especially useful if you’re unsure where exactly you stored a document.
Ease of Use:
Once you have logged in, it’s extremely simple to use and highly intuitive. The search feature means finding the document you are looking for is very simple and responsive.
This will depend on the individual user, but the app is stable enough for very regular use.
The interface is nicely designed and looks great. Navigating is a breeze and it’s a very intuitive application to use.
