Cons

- Experience slight issues in connecting to the network at times.
Features:
In Dominoes GC, the classic game of bones allows you to seat or create a table to battle in one of three forms of Dominoes; 5 Up, Draw and Block.
5 Up is the way I personally learned how to play, a more strategic format of scoring points by placing bones and make points in multiples of five. There is a spinner, the first double number placed on the board, that count towards the total number present (i.e. double six equals 12 points) until the bone is closed. These types can be used strategically to up the points ante or block a player. In these games, there can be a timer set as fast as 30 seconds to move, though I’m not sure what the penalty is if you go past that time. However, I did experience a few times where I couldn’t connect to the network mid game, I was slated to win the game, it was the opponents turn, next received a message stating I lost the game due to timing.
Draw is a simpler form of gameplay, in which you simply place bones to rid them of your hand. The player with that finishes first are awarded the total points left in an opponent’s hand. I personally disliked this one as it’s easy to lose by drawing all of the bones in the boneyard, thus you can award a tons of points to your opponent and lose in the entire game in one hand. Playing this mode allowed me to loose a lot of network ranking points.
Block game mode works similar to Draw, yet differs in that you cannot pull from the Boneyard, and if a player cannot move then they must pass; thus this can come to a point where you both are “blocked”. In the case of blocked or a player uses all their bones, the player with the least number of total dots on their bones is awarded the total number of points from the opponents hand.
Overall Dominoes GC is a good online mobile gaming platform for Dominoes. However, it can be very disorienting for a newbie, which can be discouraging to play. Some issues are do to finding a game to play with someone, as many players don’t care for playing with others with a network rating of less than 1400. A tip is to start a table and wait patiently with your screen on, because if you miss a player joining your table, they’ll get impatient and quickly leave. The other disorienting aspect is figuring out the beeps and prompts as surprisingly you will get a beep and “Please move!” notice when it’s clearly your opponent’s turn.
Lastly, it seems you can technically gamble on the network as you can purchase $Tickets for $1 USD each. Though it is clearly labeled on the developer’s website, Game Colony, that they are within U.S. legal bounds and the game is not considered gambling. You can bid $Tickets to play game tournaments others create or you start a table for. Additionally, the developer’s will award the top ranking players on their network with $Tickets once a month. Though in my opinion it skates along the technicality of gambling as you can redeem your $Ticket winning less a fee.

Dominoes GC Options
Fun Factor & Addictive:
Dominoes GC is loads of fast paced Dominoes fun. Whether you plat the traditional 5 Up or the other gaming modes, the competition of the other players will keep you coming back for more… especially if you’re a high ranking power player.
Graphics:
The game board is fairly straightforward to understand, it’s actually encouraged to take some time to get familiar with the board, Boneyard in the top left, prompts in the top right (this can be a bit befuddled), your opponents score and yours in the bottom right corner.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
As mentioned, the game features beeps to prompt you when you play, yet they are very confusing as they alert you on your opponent’s turn and often.
